Is this the worst competitive sports game out there?

I’ve played some NBA 2k online and it’s pretty much skill based and seems to play true. I haven’t played madden or nhl online so I don’t know. Is MLB the worst sports game online head to head? The timing windows and connections just seem to be off to me this year. What’s everyone’s opinion?

Servers and connections are bad but it is still streets ahead of any other sports game.

Not saying it’s a great game but mlb the show is a good game. For online play I like it better than the rest. 2k went down hill with sever meta cheese. And Madden is just a loot box game with horrendous game play. I haven’t played NHL in a while. I had a blast in nhl 16 with Chel. My friends and I had a pretty good club team that we played often. Then it just got bad year after year.
Right now The show is the only sports game I play and get excited for every year.

Im going to give NHL 22 a whirl in a minute, Microsoft finally fixed the crashing issue so I can actually run the new sports games. Not that I don’t enjoy the show but I need a bit of a breather.

I think they took all of the skill out of the game with every good pitcher having 102 mph fbs. In years past you had to pitch with some type of strategy and skill. This year, it’s just try and blow fbs past people. It truly requires no skill.

That was last year as well, I have said it before and I will say it again, Outlier was a terrible addition to the game.

This game still freezes on routine groundballs
Don’t let anyone tell you this is a good game
SDS is overloading us with content this year to try and distract us from the fact that this game plays terribly. Also to try and distract us from the fact that they couldn’t figure out how to resolve freeze offs or server problems throughout the game cycle

That was last year as well, I have said it before and I will say it again, Outlier was a terrible addition to the game.
I’m ok with outlier if it’s exactly that- an outlier. Outlier means outside of the norm. How about a 102 FB every now and again? Why does it need to be every single pitch? No pitcher throws 102 on every pitch. It’s ridiculous.

Back in like 2017 they started catering to bad players. “If it’s late it’s great,” became a theme as people would get rewarded with very late opposite field doubles scoring clutch runs and even oppo bombs off the hands. A far superior player would in turn line out regularly.
Prior to that it wasn’t a problem. If you swung late on a ball on the hands you would get sawed off on a regular basis. Although bad players would take advantage of bad fielding mechanics and bunt all the time when hitting was fair.
A combo of participation trophy culture and player engagement to encourage spending have put a damper on the average competitive sports games.
Of course if you are a cyborg playing perfect baseball swinging perfectly every time you will still win.

Probably lacks player engagement also…only trouble is it’s fun to face unrealistic pitching on the highest difficulty to me.

100% agree with you...problem is most people want to build their teams and enjoy that aspect. But online rated definitely plays more like baseball and I couldn't agree more about the engine being designed for 99 and below.

100% agree with you...problem is most people want to build their teams and enjoy that aspect. But online rated definitely plays more like baseball and I couldn't agree more about the engine being designed for 99 and below.
yep a reason there initial crack at DD was all created players and not based on player cards

Madden is by far the worst. Server can be an issue but there are so many exploits your opponent can use. Basically it is no skill and just who can use more glitches.

I'm still going with FIFA as the worst. It's easily the most rage inducing with the momentum coding and DDA.
