I can see that several of you are posting against this. But I am a "Paying Customer", I spent money to buy this game like everyone else did & I have my right to give my own personal feedback in hopes SDS developers will read it & see if it warrants any change. There are many out there that feel as I do about Directional/Classic, but are probably NOT within The Show Nation Community Forums.
Hearing what most of you are saying. It just leaves me to believe that most of you are bunch of wusses & chickens. Are you guys are that afraid & scared that if Directional & Classic was made more fairly equally leveled that now your [censored]'s will easily be kicked? That is so sad & pathetic if that's how most of you feel & think.
Like I said earlier, The "Competitiveness" comes from "PROPER" Game Play Strategy & Execution. Which Pitch to throw & where within the count & pending the Hitter facing. When to Steal, Hit & Run, when to go for a HR or just a line drive opposite field hit. When to give your starter the hook, who to warm up & why, when to pinch hit & with who. ETC, ETC. .... If Someone is a better player. then they should be able to beat their opponent no matter which mode they are using. BOTTOM LINE !!!!!
Just because if Directional/Classic was made more fairly equally leveled it does NOT mean I will win EVERY game. It will just ONLY put me on a leveled play where my chances are now 50/50 being able to win. Who I am facing may easily find a flaw within my play he could exploit. Or picks ups on my pitching tendencies & exploit that. Anyone can beat anyone at any given time as long as the game is FAIR to ALL!!!!!!!!! REGARDLESS which Mode 1 choses to use & why.

We are "paying" customers to, and voicing our opinion on the matter in hopes that SDS developers will see it and read it is our right no?

This take is like saying people who drive stick shifts unfairly get too much control of their cars. If more work/skill is required, there should be more benefit. The less work you do, the more you're reliant on external factors.
Personally, I hate it. I not only have to try to beat a player that could very well be much better than me, but I also now have to beat his input method which has more favorable results than mine. The PPP issue with stamina drain should have been the #1 complaint on this board all year long, but it wasn't because it helps the best players at the game. If it was the other way around and it was a benefit to lesser players the better players would be floored. I want my 99 fielder to act like a 99 fielder no matter what input method is used. I want my pitcher to drain stamina on meter the same way he does on PPP.

You’re letting the game do all the work for you. Why should you be rewarded just as much as someone that chooses to use a more involved interface? If that were the case, none of the more involved interfaces would need to exist, since just pressing a button and nothing else will give the same results while being less work.
It sounds like you should just go play a baseball manager sim or something.
-
Maybe it's because I play WAY too much haha but I have become fairly decent online and I use:
Directional for hitting
Classic for pitchingI'll never make WS or go 12-0 but I can complete all online programs and win more than I lose.
It's too late in the cycle for me to switch my methods. Maybe I will for '22.

I will drive a stick shift until the day I die.
Is that what we're talking about? I hope so, because I love a good manual transmission.
-
How do you want directional to be "made more fairly"? Its literally pushing a button and letting the game decide the outcome. Are you asking for better odds for the outcome? Wouldnt that then give that interface an advantage over other interfaces?

SIM MANAGING does NOT let you chose how you pitch to someone within every count during that at bat & what pitches you choose to throw wherever within that count. Nor does SIM MANAGING lets you chose which pitch you want to swing at within your at bat.
I feel there is an easy solution to this. Please o see my next posting titled "Opponent Match Up Search Engine"

believe me, most of the best players are fed up with the stamina glitch, but by their nature they are competitive as can be, so they use it to their advantage regardless of whether they like it or not. I am not a top player btw, but ive seen constant complaints from them all year, maybe its just happening more on reddit so you haven't seen it as much. they should 100% fix it next year (really should have been fixed this year, but they probably couldn't find a solution that didn't break the game more)
if you can throw a perfect pitch on meter every time, would you be fine with classic interface where you just press a/x once with no timing giving the exact same results?

I see where OP is coming from, and he has a point. It is not a level playing field competitively speaking, when users are competing ppp vs classic or directional vs whatever.
If someone wants to use classic or directional, ideally they should be playing against opponents also using those input types.
Now obviously, matchmaking is problematic enough without having to worry about input types.
I do think it makes sense to simplify the game though. IMO, SDS tries so hard to please every type of player that the game loses appeal.
Unfortunately, I think, so long as profitability is the aim, this is not likely to change unless some competitors enter the market.

I honestly think a lot of the problems come from too many options and too much complexity. Too many difficulty levels, too many gameplay options, too many attributes with ceilings that break the system, etc. I think if they ripped some layers off and simplified the focus, it might do wonders.

Answering your Q ...... Yes I would still use Classic. Lets the game flow quicker without something else so tedious needing to be done.
Perfect Pitches DOES NOT mean you would be "Un-Hittable". Perfect Pitches ONLY means that it went to where you wanted it to go. That's all. But anyone can hit any given pitch at any placed quadrant & even go yard on it. Perfect Pitches just ONLY executes your intended strategy. But the results are NOT guaranteed. Your opponent can easily foil that.

This is millennial & gen Z mentality at its finest! Oh boo hoo I should get the same rewards as everyone else regardless of my skill input or work I put into it. LOL!!!!!

I agree 110%.
I still think it will probably take competition in the market to force that, unfortunately.

This is why I hope & pray EA gets the MLB license again again & re-launches it's MLB 2K Series.

I mean, literally does nothing to change the speed of the game, it's just easier, and i think this is where we'll always disagree. you seem to just want more of a baseball strategy simulator. I'm all for strategy playing its part, and its already a big part of the game, but execution is more important, and that needs to continue to be represented in the game with more involved user input.

EA made MVP...2k made the 2k series. MVP was great, but I think EA has changed a lot since those days.

My BAD!!! In rushing to reply I confused 2K with EA. But 2K did release a very very good product during it's run. MLBTS on grew to it's acclaim it has now when 2K refused to pay the cost to renew the MLB Licensing.
However I do wonder how well or good MLBTS would be now "IF" 2K never STOPPED releasing Baseball games every year. It's so EASY to be the #1 Baseball game when you are the ONLY Baseball Game out there.RBI & OOTP does not count. RBI is strictly Arcade & OOTP is Managing Sim only.
Someone needs to release a Baseball game like MLBTS, 2K or EA & give the Baseball Video Game Public something else to play & see if it's better or not for them personally.
Then we will see who truly will be #1 & if it will be MLBTS or if the will finally be knocked down off their mighty throne. LMAO

I think placement is only part of pitching. The ability to time a pitch offers the ability to throw it a bit softer or harder. Not sure how classic differe in speed. I struggle hitting the ball as fast (and slow) as those pitches come in. Doesn't matter to me how the pitches come in.

If you think EA or 2K can make a game this good, you’re out of luck. All they’ll do is make it a money pit. This game is the easiest and most money friendly team building game out there
