People excited for Gwynn and claiming it's not an L...
You're really going to use an outfield spot on him when there are plenty of high contact AND high power guys to use?
Not me. So yes it's an L. Sorry.
At this point in the year(especially after Mantle's drop) there aren't going to be almost any outfielders better. Griffey and Mays because they are Griffey and Mays but thats it. I've started using nothing but theme teams in RS recently and its the most fun I've had in the mode all year. Also the Padres were the last team without a 99. I'm not a padres fan by any means but Tony Gwynn is an inner circle hall of famer and probably the best contact hitter of all time. Sometimes its seems some of you aren't even baseball fans and only like the sport because of this game
-
I feel like Puckett would have more power. I'm thinking it's Gwynn. That kinda sucks though being that there's so many right fielders. Oh well. He's a great hitter.

I would make the case of Griffey, Mays and Aaron, I expect if Aaron gets a 99 card which he will it will be in everyone's lineup. End game outfield may be Mantle, Griffey, Aaron despite all 3 being centerfielders

Gwynn, Ripken, Griffey Jr

Cal Ripken?
He’d have way more power, especially against lefties. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in this program as well, tho.
Didn’t the attributes make it seem like he had good speed as well? That would remove Ripken; though I, as well as most on here, also think it is Gwynn.

And if we were still using 19s hitting engine instead of the dumpster fire we have now I would agree with you.
I agree that hitting was much better in 19, but I think “dumpster fire” is a harsh term for this one. I still play this game; however, I have never found myself playing in or around dumpster fires.

Gwynn, Ripken, Griffey Jr
Griffey Jr. Played for several teams though only really well for 1. I'm definitely looking forward to his 99 though.

Yeah his 600 HR Milestone card is going to be amazing and will look so good in the Reds theme colors

Hahahaha, man that'll create mass hysteria in here. Personally I'd like to see his sleeping in the dugout awards card.

Yeah most definitely Gwynn. Cue the L comments like there won't be 2 other choices
Anyone who says it's an L didn't use his card in 2019 that was usable all year round that card was amazing,
If it's him it's a good card to have in there and one I'll pick up for sure
And if we were still using 19s hitting engine instead of the dumpster fire we have now I would agree with you.
Same engine. Its where they have the game sliders. The analytics, which they are going off of, say to place the sliders where they are at. Perhaps they are right. If it was easy, people would be complaining. Which does make the game engine, itself, the actual issue. It needs to be over hauled.

L because it’s not the player I wanted and I think the world, and more importantly content, should revolve around ME and what I want.

Could be Puckett.
Puckett would have better power and I would not say that Puckett had good speed. Average at best

That list goes 1) Cobb 2) Gwynn.

No I'm definitely a life-long fan and I'm old enough to remember pretty much all of Gwynn's career.
And I respect Gwynn as a great certainly, but was never a big fan.
I just think there's too many better cards that people have been waiting months for to be even remotely excited for Gwynn.
-
As a former chubby athlete, I'll choose him because he is one of my own. I saw him play in Pittsburgh during his farewell season. Gave him a standing ovation in the first and he doubled off the left center field wall. Next AB he was cheered again and homered. We stopped honoring him for the remainder of the game.
-
The video shows him appearing in Yankee stadium wearing a pinstriped uni. But his only appearances in Yankee Stadium were post 1996 after they changed the road uni to ...
The card itself is fine, but the introductory video is an anachronistic abomination.

Tris Speaker? Hit for one of the highest career BA, and ended his career with a ratio of 1 strike out per 30.58 plate appearances.
Extremely underrated all time great. -
Speaker doesn't fit because he'd have average defensive stats and much higher bunt numbers. Oh, and he switched teams mid-career and didn't have enough ASG appearances to match the clue.
