Switch to PS5
-
I switched to a PS5 a few weeks ago and my timing has been way worse. I am late way more than usual. Is there any setting I need to change? I already play on a monitor.
-
Hit the swing button soft as possible with a soft touch you barely need to touch it. Go into practice and get a feel for it.
-
Search the forums because there definitely is a performance/graphics mode setting you want to change. Sorry I don't remember exactly.
-
In the settings somewhere, you need to set your PS5 to performance mode. I think its under game management or something similar. I’m not at my PS5 sorry

Nope, with the PS5 you cannot change the performance/graphics. The game is rendered in HDR 120 FPS and can’t be changed. That is the way MLB the Show is intended to be played on a PS5

Have you downloaded the PS5 version of the game. If not you really should. That version is optimized for the PS5.

You're either misunderstanding or mistaken. Sorry.
"Saved Data and Game/App” settings, under the game presets tab, there is a performance or resolution mode that is set to “game default” and that needs to be changed to performance mode"
Took a few seconds to search the forums and find this which I definitely also did and it definitely makes a difference.

Yes the ps5 settings. Also, the game is capped at 60 fps regardless of console or settings. Makes me think performance mode wouldn’t make a difference. But , i never tried it.

This is the only thing that's been keeping you from a 1200 rating
Unless you're there... then... never mind.

I was wondering if PS4 or even the old Xbox played differently than the next gen consoles.
It could be some kind of graphic setting that is available on the next Gen console you should turn off.

This really does make a difference though. I remember when I was on PS4 a few years ago the first year they had 4K and all the performance settings. It was a significant difference.
Being on Xbox now I wonder if there is a similar way to change this setting? I’ve never heard of the option from the Xbox side in any other game.
Makes me want to sell my Xbox and get a ps5 or even a PS4 just for mlb…although mlb is all I play on Xbox anyways.

Interested to check this out when I get home to see if there is anything available on Xbox.

I was having issues with my PS5 even in performance mode. Eventually, I found out that because I set up the system on a different input, the setting was wrong. I felt pretty stupid that i played this way for so long when it was a fix as easy as changing resolution (on the input) from auto to match the PS5 output.
-
I changed to performance mode and that seems to have helped. Thanks everyone!
-
Anyone know if it matters whether the controller is plugged in or not on the PS5?

It does not matter on the ps5. There was input delay on the ps4 but the ps5 is the same unplugged or plugged.

Do you happen to know if the performance mode in the ps5 settings changed the setting in the audio video area in game? Do they correspond to eachother?
