You're welcome to have your own opinion, but in my opinion openers are almost a requirement in BR. Starter stamina takes too long to regenerate, and relievers can go from zero stamina to full with one game of rest. I'll take a silver starter or two if someone like Dustin May comes up, but otherwise tanking the rotation in order to get a better bullpen and lineup seems like it is still the best way to win.
This is the way.
With the extra diamond round if there is a gotta have SP, I’ll grab that, but otherwise it’s definitely stacking the bullpen.
I actually just finished the program last night and picked up Jansen. Bought Chapman from the market and have I believe all the top arms at this point. Jumping back into ranked for a until the end of the season. The next event doesn’t look appealing at all.

The topps now event looks like it will be the most fun event since moonshot but to each his own man

I'm looking forward to it too. I don't typically use Topps Now cards outside of the program missions, so using a lot of different cards will be fun. Do we know if there will be team restrictions like in Part 1 of the Hard 90 event? I completely skipped that one because setting up the team was so annoying. Part 2 was much better since you could just do your own quick modifications before each run.

Really?? Why do you think so? Me personally they’re just fillers that maybe help with specific team builds. I like to idea of them, in tune with the season, specific moments/events, but they just end up as collection pieces and that’s it. I’ve got them for the mookie collection, but would have sold them all otherwise. Only monthly award card I’m using is Schwarber.

Because this is the first event all year that has actual event restrictions without having to waste 15 minutes getting your god squad in there. Also topps now cards never see any use. Some of them are really good cards and it will be fun to use them

Just played a BR game vs someone who came out with Silver FB Justin Wilson as an Open.
Normally I don't play people that use an opener as I think it's cheap. Yes, it's part of the game, but that's my opinion.
I decided to play as I just drafted my team and had Silver FB G Stanton and S. Rodriguez on my team.
Well after shelling Wilson for 10 runs he finally quit.
I figured he would leave him in to get the strikes he needed. (3)
I think he got them; but I I made out better than him.
One game in and I have the following:
27/40 TB in one BR Entry
7/10 XBH in one BR Entry.
5/8 TB with Silver FB S. Rodriguez
1/1 HRs with Silver FB G. Stanton. No matter what u think of openers, it is a legit strategy in baseball. That said, BR is more like Turbo Baseball and it's no holds barred/win at all costs. Far more so than any other mode.

I appreciate the feedback and comments about using Openers. A few have commented that it's the way to do it because of stamina issues.
That being said, wouldn't that be more like programming faults in SDS and a sort of a 'exploit'?
Not saying an exploit as in cheating; but if they can't program it where the game can distinguish a starter is playing a 3 inning game compared to a 9 inning game, then that is a glitch/exploit.
Again, this is my opinion and has no bearing on anyone else.
I don't care about online play, or my record, enough to warrant facing an Opener. I'll just leave the game and move on to another game.

Yes, it's a strategy in BASEBALL where you're playing a full 9 inning game. Not in a video game where you only play a third if that. As others have stated, it's because of stamina. If SDS could code the game where a starter's stamina would recoup as fast as a reliever's; I doubt anyone would use an opener.
Usually in a 3 inning game you would only need three SPs anyway, which is why most people place third Common picks as she bottom two starters.
With the extra Diamond round you could technically draft two Diamond RPs and two Gold RPs, with the other four being Silvers and still draft a competitive starting lineup with two Diamond hitters, two Gold hitters and 4 Silver hitters in it.
But again, this is my opinion. You play how you want to play and I'll at how I want to play. No harm.
Heck, In my MAIN grinding squad I won't run more than two CPs (one lefty in eighty) in my bullpen. The rest are RPs.
