I'm going to disagree with you on this one. In fact being in the AL would have the added advantage of him being a DH here and there to give his body a break from either fielding or pitching. I have a feeling next year ot won't even matter when the NL adopts the DH.

not a guarantee. first the nl owners have to vote to adopt it, then if passed players would have to accept it being in the cba, which generally they dont unless they get or feel they are getting something in return to give the owners something they want.
There is so much bad blood between players and owners that i dont see this as being simple

I heard you. Guess we will see but what do you think of the OP statement, better off in AL or NL?

AL definitely. In the NL he d have to play a position which would mean more days off, less ABs and less starts which wouldnt be good for anyone.

The real reason Ohtani (and Trout) are going to waste, is because they play for the Angels.

Isn't Pujols off the books for the Angels next season? Maybe they can get some pitching.

Universal DH is gonna start next year so it doesn't matter.

While the Angels don't have a good front office, the thing thats been holding them back for years is Pujols. Now that he is gone they might be able to get some pitching finally

True, but Trout's got maybe 5 great years left in him, they have to re-up Ohtani soon (which won't be cheap) and they don't have much in the pipeline in the way of pitching (other than Detmers).

They have 2 more years of Ohtani. Owners worth over 3 billion. The 'can't afford' excuse MLB owner use is always BS.

There's no particular reason they couldn't turn this all around in a year or two.
