Historic Rosters 2021

Does your playlist only exist on PlayStation. I tried finding it. I have Xbox and then realized you must be on ps i’m thinking.
-
I am on PS5 but I thought the Player Vault and Roster Vault support both PS5 and Xbox. In other words I can upload a player or roster to the vault from PS5 and you should be able to download to Xbox assuming it's the same version of the game (i.e. MLBTS 21). You may have to turn on Sharing or some feature named something similar.

I was able to search a few days ago...looked like the last time you uploaded your all time roster updates was early August, is that right? From the teams you mentioned you were working on they look great so far.

A couple weeks ago sounds about right for the ALL TIME GREATS roster. I upload players to the Player Vault just about every day though as I am creating them for the team I am working on in the ALL TIME GREATS roster.

Oh, I didn't know there is a player vault as well. So people can go in and download the players and add them to your rosters?

Yes, there is a player vault. If you've used the Roster Vault you should have seen the Logo Vault, Player Vault, and Slider vault as well. They are all accessible via the Vault. There's also a Stadium Vault but that is accessible from within the Stadium Creator only.
And yes, you can download a player from the Vault and add it to any roster you have on your console.

I added DET and uploaded a new version of the ALL TIME GREATS roster I'm working on. It now includes BAL, BOS, NYY, TB, TOR, CWS, CLE, DET, and MIN. Up next is KC.
Roster name is ALL TIME GREATS under user biebig2010.

Great work so far biebig2010! Love using your created players to import and noticed that you had a roster you were making along with it. Typically your players are more accurate than the rest that have been uploaded so I prefer using them.
I have a few that I noticed you have not done and was curious as to why, for example Bob Meusel, Bob Murcer, or Paul O’Neill for the Yankees who were all arguably better than some others you have done already. Do you have plans to make these players in the future at all, even if they aren’t for your roster but for player importing? As I said, you seem to have a better knack at it than the rest.
Just curious, keep it up. I’ll definitely be supporting it all!

I am in the process of creating an ALL TIME GREATS roster for MLBTS 21.
Unfortunately MLBTS 21 doesn't allow franchises or rosters to transfer from MLBTS 20 to MLBTS 21 so all players will have to be created from scratch. For a 93 man roster we're talking about over 2700 players. Given this unfortunate situation of having to recreate each player from scratch it's going to take several months to complete this roster.
The first cut of this will be 40-50 of the all time greatest players for each team/franchise. As I create the players for each team/franchise I will upload players to the Player vault. When I get 40-50 players for each team/franchise I'll upload an ALL TIME GREATS roster to the Roster vault.
I'll periodically post updates on this message thread. So far I have finished BAL, MIN, and am working on BOS.

Red Rolfe and Johnny Murphy are also missing too.
But, if you are going to include duplicates, why not ones like Reggie Jackson, Jason Giambi, Roger Peckinpaugh, and Mike Mussina?

I'm not including duplicates. Do you see any anywhere?
I will get to players like Rolfe, Murphy, Murcer, Meusel, O'Neill, etc when I can but I am not creating 90 players for each franchise just yet. I'll try and get there but it's going to take quite a bit of time to create 90 players X 30 franchises. We're talking about 2700 players minus the current players still playing that came with the game.

I added KC and uploaded a new version of the ALL TIME GREATS roster I'm working on. It now includes all teams in the AL East and AL Central. Up next is HOU.
Roster name is ALL TIME GREATS under user biebig2010.

Paul O'Neill poses an interesting dilemma.
O'Neill played 8 years for CIN and then 9 years for NYY. O'Neill's WAR was better for NYY than it was for CIN; however, if I put O'Neill on NYY he's the 5th best right fielder in NYY franchise history (based on career JAWS) behind Ruth, Winfield, Keeler and Maris. If I put O'Neill on CIN then he's tied with Reggie Sanders for the best right fielder in CIN franchise history (based on career JAWS).
In previous versions of this roster I put O'Neill on CIN and not NYY because he'll be in CIN MLB starting lineup but for NYY he's likely going to end up in AA.

I think you are doinga great job on these rosters and agree with you on the O'Neil decision to put on the Reds. There are a few players like that where the years on two different teams is within a year. I would always default to putting them on the weaker overall team where they would definitely be on the 25 man roster, rather than burring a guy like O'Neill on a loaded Yankees all time team.
-
So no dups but Tino Martinez a DH for the Yanks instead of on the Mariners over all those others Yankee greats even Giambi was a better DH.
But also Tom Gordon starting pitcher on Royals instead of Relief Pitcher on Red Sox?
-
Honestly, I don’t care if there’s duplicates or not. It doesn’t matter because a player can be great for two teams like the O’Neill situation is the same for numerous others. I’d rather see duplicates because Pirate Barry was MVP and so was Giant Barry, Babe was one of Red Sox best pitchers, and on and on.
I guess this goes into what the idea of how the entire roster looks at the very end.
And I’m more than willing to help in anyway I can with research. I know you probably like to create the players yourself, but you are basing it all off something. Maybe can start helping you gather everything and streamline it more.
At this point I’m worried MLB22 won’t allow it to be imported either with the Topps deal ending. Everything probably going to change.
-
Then things like this though, no Bob Meusel, no Murders row.
No George Davis on White Sox, no Black Sox.
-
Not to mention Randy Johnson and Alex Rodriguez
No Cap Anson on White Sox?
-
Where are you putting/have you put Ichiro? Not trying to start WW3, just curious!
-
Why can’t sds just make historical rosters like 2K? I know rights is an issue, but surely they have enough, right?

I've been following and researching baseball for decades. I don't need any help researching the game. Thanks but no thanks.
I didn't put Tino Martinez as the top DH for the Yankees, I created him as a 1B for the Yankees because he played more years with the Yankees than he did the Mariners, he played nearly twice as many games for the Yankees as he did the Mariners, and his WAR was over twice as high for the Yankees as the Mariners. Whatever lineups are in the game right now are because that's the default lineups the game determined. I am not anywhere near ready to set the lineups for each team yet seeing as I've only got players created for 10 out of 30 teams.
Jason Giambi played more years, more games, and had a higher WAR playing for Oakland than he did for the Yankees. I'm putting him on the A's when I get to them; not the Yankees.
Tom "Flash" Gordon played 8 years for the Royals, mostly as a starter, and only 4 years for the Red Sox. He played in more games, pitched more innings, and had a higher WAR for the Royals than he did the Red Sox. Hence, in the roster I am creating he's on the Royals.
If you don't mind duplicates then fine, you can save whoever you'd like and put him on as many teams as you'd like in your roster. In the roster I'm creating I'm not going to do duplicates.
Also, if you want to put Gordon on the Red Sox then feel free to do so in your roster. In the roster I'm creating he's on the Royals.
