I finished my ALL TIME GREATS roster for MLBTS 20 and uploaded it to the vault.
In addition to the ALL TIME GREATS roster I'm going to make HISTORIC ROSTER 1990-2009, HISTORIC ROSTER 1970-1989, HISTORIC ROSTER 1950-1969, HISTORIC ROSTER 1930-1949, and HISTORIC ROSTER 1900-1929.
Next up is the HISTORIC ROSTER 1990-2009. The following teams will be included:
BAL 1997 BOS 2004 NYY 1998 TB 2008 TOR 1992
CWS 2005 CLE 1995 DET 2006 KC 1994 MIN 1991
HOU 2005 LAA 2002 OAK 1990 SEA 2001 TEX 1999
ATL 1995 MIA 1997 NYM 2000 PHI 2008 WASH 1994
CHC 2003 CIN 1990 MIL 2008 PIT 1991 STL 2004
ARI 2001 COL 2007 LAD 2009 SD 1998 SF 2010
I am in the process of creating an ALL TIME GREATS roster for MLBTS 21.
Unfortunately MLBTS 21 doesn't allow franchises or rosters to transfer from MLBTS 20 to MLBTS 21 so all players will have to be created from scratch. For a 93 man roster we're talking about over 2700 players. Given this unfortunate situation of having to recreate each player from scratch it's going to take several months to complete this roster.
The first cut of this will be 40-50 of the all time greatest players for each team/franchise. As I create the players for each team/franchise I will upload players to the Player vault. When I get 40-50 players for each team/franchise I'll upload an ALL TIME GREATS roster to the Roster vault.
I'll periodically post updates on this message thread. So far I have finished BAL, MIN, and am working on BOS.

Again, unacceptable. Rosters were never able to be carried over, and stadiums are new to this year so you can't really include that in the "again" portion.

That's simply not true. You certainly could carry rosters over from MLBTS 19 to MLBTS 20. You could also carry franchises over as well.
I'm glad you like them. The Bosox, Yanks, Giants, and Dodgers All Time Greats teams are stacked. They have so many Hall of Famers on each team it's ridiculous.
One thing I'll do is to arrange the rosters to have say the 69 Orioles all at the MLB level and have them play the Mets with all their 69 players at the MLB level and relive some of the great World Series of all time. It's a lot of fun.
Another thing that's fun is to create a franchise and do a fantasy draft using the ALL TIME GREATS roster. You can build a helluva team through the draft using that roster.
Yet they are going to allow transferring of logos from 21 to 22. I don't believe the "new platform" excuse at all.
I finished the HISTORIC ROSTER 1930-1949 and uploaded it to the vault.
Next up is the HISTORIC ROSTER 1900-1929. The following teams will be included:
BAL 1922 BOS 1915 NYY 1927 TB --- TOR ---
CWS 1919 CLE 1920 DET 1909 KC --- MIN 1924
HOU --- LAA --- OAK 1929 SEA --- TEX ---
ATL 1914 MIA --- NYM --- PHI 1915 WASH ---
CHC 1906 CIN 1919 MIL --- PIT 1909 STL 1926
ARI --- COL --- LAD 1916 SD --- SF 1905

Thanks but I prefer to create my own players.
I uploaded a new version of the ALL TIME GREATS roster I'm working on. It includes BAL, BOS, NYY, TB, TOR, CWS, and MIN. Up next is CLE.
Roster name is ALL TIME GREATS under user biebig2010.
According to the MLBTS 22 FAQs we will not be able to carry over franchises or roster from MLBTS 21 to MLBTS 22. What a kick in the nuts.
MLBTS 22 will be a no go for me this year because of this unfortunately .
Kick in the nuts to all stadium creators, player creators, and roster creators. SCEA is going to require that all stadiums, players, and rosters will have to be re-created again in MLBTS 22. Unacceptable!
And how would you create the equipment? They'd have to add a new equipment editor and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I finished all the teams and re-ratings and uploaded a new version to the MLBTS21 Roster vault. This roster is now complete for MLBTS21.

I think I got this work around: Before saving the stadium go into stadium properties, change the info if you want, then select confirm. Then save the stadium. This seems to work so far.

I tried this trick and am 7 for 7 on successful saves. Thanks.
I added COL and rerated LAA attributes and uploaded a new version of the ALL TIME GREATS roster to the MLBTS21 Roster vault. It now includes all teams in the AL East, AL Central, AL West, NL East, NL Central, ARI, and COL. It also includes rerated AL East, AL Central, HOU, and LAA teams.
Next up is LAD and rerated OAK.

Some more of the conversation Y2Y saves wasn't the only factor, just one of them. When I asked if Y2Y saves hampered the ability to add features to franchise because of having to ensure that new features were compatible with previous saves, the answer received was: It certainly factored into the equation, but the biggest bottle neck is usually limited engineering resources. We are working with a very large, complicated set of code/tools. So, it takes a while, even for an experienced programmer, to come up to speed on our title. When you add in frequent design paradigm shifts and a very limited development cycle (< 9 months), it is difficult to gain traction. Good news is that the engineering staff for Franchise grew by ~300% this year.

I have no doubt they decided to not put resources on transferring players or rosters from last year's game to this year's game. No doubt whatsoever.
I'd be interested to hear their overall strategy on the game.
They have a fairly extensive player editor and they add new equipment options every year. This allows the consumer to customize their experience to meet their own needs.
They also have a player vault and a roster vault that is used extensively every year for consumers to save their custom creations.
They also have a stadium creator that allows the consumer to customize their experience and a Stadium vault to save their custom creations.
Is their strategy to really support the ability to let the consumer customize their own playing experience but make their consumers have to redo their customizations every year? If so then they are missing the mark by a long shot. It would be like a Bank allowing me to deposit all the money I want in a given year but not letting me withdraw it if it's been in their bank for more than a year. That would obviously be ludicrous.
From countryboy at OS It was a difficult feature to maintain. We spent a lot of cycles to implement it with every release. When the design team was laying out their long term plans, engineering pointed some of the hurdles they would need to overcome and additional time it would take to accomplish those plans AND maintain year-to-year saves. Unfortunately, the additional resource/time costs coupled with telemetry (maybe a little dubious) indicating many users did not use the feature put the feature on the chopping block.

Transferring a player or a roster is different than continuing a franchise. They are implying that they can't do any of the above because of the complexities of franchise enhancements and a limited number of resources to work on franchise mode.
Unless they change their stance it looks like we'll get none of the above.
We will get to transfer the logos though. Glad they put resources on this extremely useful and highly sought after feature. Yipee!
