Anyone run Chipper at SS?

I'm a pretty big Miggy fan and want to run him at 3B (since there are so many good 1B options - I start Ortiz and have HRD Prince on the bench). But I already have Chipper and have him up to P4. Was thinking about moving Chipper to SS and Trae Turner to 2B. Moving Wander to the bench - a nice 5 tool bench player would be nice on the bench.
I use Chipper at SS with Trea at 2B. It works well enough. You'll notice they both occasionally get less than ideal animations but I havent seen any glaring issues defensively.
I plan on moving him back to 3B though once I get my Ballplayer loadout set up for SS. I unfortunately started building him to play C then they released Schwarber (and Piazza) so currently using the BP at 3rd while grinding the Hawk loadout offline (slowly too I may add).

Yeah, the more I think about it I think the move might be playing Wander at SS and putting Chipper on the bench.
I have been trying out Brooks Robinson at third…..extra innings, runner on 3rd, two outs and he hits a dribbler to third. Brooks goes into the barehanded throw animation and whiffs for the loss lmao. What’s the point of using Brooks Robinson if he doesn’t make that play?

Fielding animations are the ultimate rng. That's why i just leave chipper at third. I'm convinced it doesn't matter how good the fielding attributes are, it's all about what animations you get.

Sig Justin Turner made one of the best defensive plays I have seen in this game all year and from my DD team in 3 years at least, last night. I wish I knew how to upload replays because it was a web gem.

That's all subjective. Miggy, Castellanos and Vlad all hit better for me than Chipper. I'm sure there are more that are hitting better too. Also trying new cards makes the game a little more fun if you're not trying to hit 110 mph wiffle balls. Hell, I could probably list 50 people in the game I hit better than Chipper with. Trea, Franco and Xander also.

ASG Xander is a great card for me, I may just throw him back in my line up.

How would you know if you like a card like Brooks if you don’t give him a run? I don’t give a rats A if I lose a game. I don’t need to have the best possible player at every position and bunt dance/hold R2 every time I line out.
Once I make WS, I will try different cards for a while after tanking back to HOF to see if I like them. I am hitting around .280 with Morgan but I am still trying him out. Think around .360 with Votto. Like to give around 100 ab's. That way, I know who to choose when making my run the following season.
