Simon Birch is a better hitter than me. My normal lineup has everyone hitting under .190 except I have 2 guys hitting .208 and .205. I have 3 players under .160 lmao. Somehow it gets more embarrassing.... this is through over 330 games played.

The one positive is my era is just above 1.00 so I am 50 something games over .500 .

The most annoying part of it all is I get "good" swings ALL THE TIME but they are always soft lineouts or deep flyouts. Probably doesnt help that I get so frustrated with 90% of those "good" swings being outs that I swing at pitches 40 feet out of the zone so I am guaranteed for 8+ Ks a game. More accurate would be 10+ per game lol.

    Alright pointless rant post over.

3 years ago I had the same issue , I had zero patients and swung at everything , it took me a few years and switching to zone hitting and now most of my guys hit in 290-350 range, with far less strikeouts.

Yeah I have always been on Zone. I don't like the uncertainty of the other hitting interfaces. What's really crazy to me is I play teams where all their guys are hitting .300+ yet I shut them down. So I wonder where are the [censored] players/pitchers that they play? I never play them lol... or maybe I do and I'm just so bad I dont notice haha

On thing I learned if I hit good with a guy I stick with him. For instances Pablo Sandoval no one really uses him , he;s my starting 3B because I like his swing and I do well with him. You have to find who works for

Just put me against Edward Cabrera, even on rookie difficulty. That’s how I’ll be a worse hitter than anyone

I can totally relate to everything you are saying. I have luckily gotten a little better over the last two months on what I swing at which was by far my biggest issue. However, it takes total concentration for me each and every pitch which can get kind of tiresome. I don't know how these streamers I see that barely are even paying attention to the screen while hitting most of the time but still unleashing bombs on the regular. I can also relate to those batting averages. My outfield for the majority of the season was Trout, Buxton, Soriano. Each one of them have over 200 ABs and Trout has the best numbers of the 3 hitting .157 with 8 homers and 22 RBIs....that tells you how bad it was early on. For about the first 100 games I would go on streaks of 5-6 games straight getting shut out and maybe getting 2-3 hits if I was lucky. My OF for about the last 3-4 weeks has been Clemente, Bryce and Vlad Sr and they are all 3 hitting over .300 with with much more homers than those original 3 OFs I was using. I still struggle especially against outlier pitchers but it definitely gets better little by little.

You can't do any behind pitcher cams in ranked seasons though.

I was horrible a couple of years ago. Am getting much better. I have worked hard on watching the ball come out of the pitcher's hand. When I concentrate on that my hitting is way better.

Brother, I am the streakiest hitter ever.
I just got 1-hit by freaking DeGrom who I usually see well.
Might have been the jump in rank, but I don't think so.
Some days you see everything, some days you're blind.
I know I'm only so good, and the higher ranked guys are gonna house me most of the time.
    No worries.
I'll probably never be WS, but I still get to sleep at night.
    Just chill.

About a month ago I had a stretch of like 7 or 8 games where I faced DeGrom or Cabrera every game. I had 4 hits in 3 games combined lol. Got no hit once. But I just had a really nice hitting game vs a team in the 800s using DeGrom. I hit a walk off grand slam with Justice and the guy quits. I didn't get credit for the grand slam smh.

But yeah last season I was in the 880-890 range multiple times and would always end up playing some juggernaut [censored] kid who was 170-14 or something crazy like that. Every pitch, no matter where I put it, was just smashed. Nothing worse than being terrified to throw the ball and then hearing that SMACK.

I play badly when I’m angry or inpatient.

The key is to really just take your time. Stick to your zone or what you do.

I find if you’re in a slump just stick to pitches at the top of the zone. If the ball ain’t going there don’t swing. Sure you’ll backwards K a bit but you’ll frustrate the other guy a lot and get more hittable pitches

    This.
    Playing patient and loose.
    Trust your hand/eye.
    Don't choke the controller.
    Slumps happen. They're supposed to.

Dont under estimate Simon Birch and his hitting. He got some pretty good exit velo on his swings. Just ask Mrs. Wenteworth.

Great movie by the way. I know some dont like it but Ill admit it, I enjoyed it.

I'm pretty sure I can provide a challenge as worst hitter. I strike out at least 15 times a game and if I get 4 hits, that's great. I've tried everything and I just never seem to get better but I keep playing because Iike baseball.
I just accept that I suck at this game so it doesn't bother me anymore.
