Why Doesn’t SDS put cards like Milestone Miggy in packs and make him like 1:100,000 odds like Madden and 2K?

    Are they allergic to money?

Don’t get me wrong I am grateful and appreciate that they do not do that, but it is kind of mind boggling.

With this undeserved air of superiority and condescension.

    Never change, brah.

Nobody is whining. I’m honestly curious. I’m surprised you find it hard to believe people spend money on packs in sports games to pull cards with horrible odds? Your post is the definition of condescending air of superiority brah.

Why doesnt sds do it when madden and 2k do?

Sds makes only 1 game, small staff, so game sales is probably where they make their money and they dont "need" to extras hunt.
However the others - have huge staffs make multiple games and probably cant even get to break even on game sales alone.
ever sit through the credits at the end on a game like final fantasy or resident evil(from one of these huge studios) the credits list is longer than a lord of the rings movie.

Purely and simply; SDS arent as greedy as EA. (Except for the Mookie price, but ill skip by that 😄 )

SDS - you can buy Stubs, you can either use these to buy players or packs. They're also VERY generous with free cards. Ethical.

EA - You can only buy the Points, which can only buy you the packs - Not ethnical. Gambling. Also, I cant speak for MUT, but i remember Fifa - every icon SBC used to cost the same as Mookie. With barely ANY free packs or cards.

Please do not think the grass is greener, it couldnt be further from the truth.

Are you considering in addition to the mission already or only location is randomly in pack? The card isn’t intended to be exclusive; they made fairly simple missions/stats for nearly everyone to get him in celebration of his milestone.

They want him to be celebrated and enjoyed, not the first 1mm card of the year.

I mean Mookie is going to be pretty cheap to collect if you’re willing to wait for them to gift you more cards. This year has been by far the best for completing collections IMO

They don't screw the players which is why I buy the deluxe version of the game every year and not Madden or NBA.

I’m sure they’ve done their market research and have come to an understanding of what works and what doesn’t. Also as a company you have a certain reputation. If you change something even ever so slightly it can cause people to be turned off. I also think the show is self aware that their product has not been as good as it can be. So the best way to keep people playing and interested is to give them free or easy to obtain cards. The more people that play the game the more money they will make. People are still going to come out of pocket to buy stubs.

EA releases multiple titles all with in months of another. The game life for people that buy all their titles is very short or limited. So EA mostly likely needs to turn a profit faster than SDS. SDS basically has 3 to 4 months of no new major sports games interrupting them. By the time The show drops in March or April the sports gaming community is ready for something other than madden, fifa and nhl.

Over the years as well, EA runs massive deals for their games come holiday season time. One year I got madden and fifa a few weeks before Christmas for $40 in a sales bundle off psn. So EA clearly is making a majority of their money off micro transactions. 2k is always free by January or February.

Does it matter? I'll still somehow pull the same no name no face 55 overall player 14x a month. Which is absurd when you factor in the amount of MLB players there are.

I guess they don’t want to go full-on money hungry, and good on them for not doing that. FIFA, mobile games and all them are getting ridiculous with pay-to-win micro-transactions, so if SDS went into that too much, they’d get some serious backlash.

I just wish I could “play next moment” like in madden. What a time saver, especially when you know, there like a thousand of them.

I agree. And to say this is the most ridiculous post is really saying something. Though isn’t this Cody fellow the one who earlier in the year said that more content should behind a paywall? I don’t understand the thinking of some of these people here.

He's also said BR should be only played on legend. I think he just wants more opportunities to say he is better than everyone else

I think some people are just use to madden. Having a certain player is a status symbol. Madden makes it so a lot of top cards are extremely hard to acquire unless you spend money.

So you want to give more money to SDS instead of being able to earn the players? You are the target consumer. I'd rather spend time playing the game to earn the cards and using my money on things like toilet paper and food or better yet, put it into a savings account.

Why would you want this to be EA, I play MLBTS year round and spend a medium amount in stubs, every year I can get the team I want by playing… I can only get a second or third tier teams in EA unless I spend a ton of money on points, you can’t even buy the cards you want, only packs..

If you just want to spend money go snd do it … I like the way sds does it and madden. I had 98 overall team with all 99 starters no money spent but here I can diversify who I use
