Like I don't even know where to start to explain it. I fcking hate it, not even joking. I feel like previous years had their obvious flaws but this game is outright unplayable 9 out of 10 games due to my location. I either get matched up with people from the US or with Koreans/Chinese/Japanese people. I can swing as soon as the pitch leaves the hand and still be late on a mediocre fastball. It's awful.
People ask me why I haven't been playing RS this year. Well that's the reason. I rather dance on legos 8 hours a day than play a single game of this mess.
Okay rant over, I got my 97 Chapman so time to kick this game back to the curb where it belongs.
I feel your pain but according to El flama blanca, dolenz, raylewissb47 and many others, the laggy warping pitches don't exist or are a product of your internet. I would bet you are getting matched with people close to the servers. I think that is the issue. Your internet is good enough to match with them but the performance is horrid due to the distance. Game loves to match me with people 1k miles away. Even Chicago opponents are a nightmare. Coincidentally, there is an alleged server in Chicago.
Must be a great game if you don't see these things. HOF is actually fun for me when the game doesn't lag and pitches don't warp. Problem is that is happening non-stop now.

I know for a fact that's BS. Like I have explained many times before on this forum, I split my time between Amsterdam and Texas. Internet quality and speeds are the same. In Texas, I can compete with anyone and turn on 102 when I'm looking for it. I've proven it too, the stats are there. Made 1100+ rating, top 50, countless flawless runs and so on in previous years. This year, it's just not possible playing in Amsterdam. It has always been harder when I'm here, due to the latency, but I've always been able to at least put up a good fight and reach WS and go flawless. I've even had a few flawless runs this year as well playing from here. But it's not been nearly the same latency wise, and I honestly feel like luck played a factor more than anything in those runs.
Which is awful, I don't want to win games by luck and I certainly don't want to lose games to guys who I know I would outplay with one hand behind my back if we had equal circumstances. It's so infuriating and for that reason I just don't play anymore and keep my sanity.

And that coincides with my theory that being close to the servers is a huge advantage. I would bet you are pretty close when in TX. My closest location to the alleged servers is Chicago and those opponents are a nightmare. Florida, New Jersey, New York, Boston, Philly, Atlanta, Denver, West Coast etc are all nightmare match ups for me if they are indeed from that area.
Messaging people asking where they are playing from tells a lot. 120 mph pitches with no pitch recognition. Took me a long time but like I said in a previous thread, I think I finally figured out the laggy warping pitches. Problem is I can't do anything on my end. I still adjust and win a lot of these games, they just aren't fun. -

Correct. I think dedicated servers solve a good portion of the problems this game has faced the last few years personally

Yea, guess my wired fiber in the middle of the U.S. isn't good. Who would have known? My internet sucks per el flama blanca.

No worries. I have fiber internet and I have a $400 router and everything wired. In other games that do have dedicated servers, I'm pinging between 5-10ms, sometimes even <5. It's not me that's causing issues when I play The Show.

Oh I know. I Already have expressed my opinion on match making and how it seriously effects gameplay on other post. It’s an issue and has been for a long time

I know nothing about any of this stuff, but I heard that SDS isn’t big enough (like EA) to have dedicated servers because it costs a fortune. Is any of that accurate?

No, first of all SDS makes plenty of revenue like other fantasy sports games. It has been reported yesterday that MLB The Show is now the second most selling sports game on the market. That's just form the sales of the game, let alone the amounts of money they make from people who purchase stubs.
And on top of that, SDS is a Sony owned studio. Doesn't get more flushed with cash than being backed by Sony. It's just a cheapskate mentality, why spend on something if people will buy the game on our terms anyway?

100 percent with you. I got matched up with someone from Dominican Republic and despite all the lag and pitch warping I have a 9 to 5 lead and now stuck in a freeze off. I mean you would think as long as they have been putting out this game that some things would be figured out but nope. Lack of competition isn’t helping anything either. They just don’t care

I went from playing 1200 RS games per year, to 60 last year to 20 this year, if you’re not dealing with crappy connections, you’re dealing with crappy people. Events have been kind of interesting…I guess, really only play them when I get an itch to take Superfactor Alomar online.

This sounds exactly like me. I used to grind RS like a madman, it's literally all I played when I turned my playstation on. Now I don't even wanna play one.

Sometimes I’ll get to the pick stadium screen but then my better judgement kicks in and I go play something else. It’s just been so disappointing the last couple years.

I’ve said this a couple weeks ago, but I would love for them to at least bring back a ping indicator like they used to have. Let us be able to see our opponents ping and if we don’t like, we can back out. This would help eliminate some bad games

Yeah, it was when online rated was the only thing. Did DD come out in 15? I forget when that came out. But there was a ping indicator I think when imagine dragons- radioactive was in the game. I don’t know why they ever got rid of it.

Ping was in the lobbies for the play now/online rated community whom theyve abandoned
