What does SDS have against offline Cardinals fans?
-
Won't they be available in the online marketplace??

I think it is great that we are seeing three Cardinals icons (Musial, Pujols, Ozzie Smith) released all within a 1 week span.
As an offline player, which of those cards can I earn by playing and how do I earn them? Oh, you've put them all as rewards for online modes, so I am out of luck.
As someone whose interest in the game is beginning to wane a little, this does nothing to entice me to keep playing. Even if I can afford to buy them all off the market next month that seems like an very unsatisfying way to obtain them.
You forgot about Sutter?

You cardinals fans just got Harrison Bader too.

Availability and price(even if very low) arent his point.
The point hes trying to make is not 1 but 3
all unavailable for him to play for as an offline player
im sure if it was just one...... -

Yeah I don't get this complaint. I'm NMS, played 6 online games in the 6 weeks since I got the game.
As a Red Sox fan I've accumulated enough stubs in 6 weeks to get:
- Big Papi
- Mookie (will have him by tomorrow though I still kind of hate him)
And yes I do play A LOT. But if you don't play online, shouldn't you have to play a lot of offline to have nice things?
NO HANDOUTS!
PS I just started flipping a week ago.
Not asking for a handout. Where did you get that idea? I probably have enough stubs for Musial, which is the most expensive of the three by far. Stubs I earned through playing since I have not worked the market at all. I have only sold my duplicates. If you reread my original message I did say that simply buying them from the market seems unsatisfying.
As I also mentioned, I am struggling to find reasons to play every day. Working towards any one of these three in an offline program would have been enough.
I just find it odd that they would drop three iconic players from the same team in such short order and make them all rewards for online modes.
Well...he IS a Pirates fan...angry at the world
No. Not a Pirates fan. Clemente fan.
If you had actually read my post (that you had a snide remark for) I even said I was a Red Sox fan.

im sure if it was just one......Correct. I understand that some cards will be earned through online games. And I get the Musial card being a 12-0 reward. But to drop 3 of the most desirable (to Cardinal fans at least) cards for any team all at once and limit them all to online rewards seems strange.
Simply buying them on the marketplace seems so unrewarding and unsatisfying.

And we appreciate it, but Harrison earned his spot in that POTM program.
I do plan on using him on my Cardinals team but that contact and power against lefties is pretty weak for a 97 diamond. Shoot, his power vs lefties is actually 5 points higher on his gold live series card.

Worst fans in the game.
Have you been to Philly or New York?

I think they try to mix things up as far as how you earn cards from year to year, and if a lot of cards from a particular team can only be earned online then it’s probably just a coincidence. I’m sure there are online only players out there who are annoyed because most of their favorite team’s players can only be earned offline. It seems like they try to set up content in a way that encourages people to try both online and offline, so people who stick with one or the other are always going to miss out on something.

They can only give so many rewards that way or it won't encourage people to play the modes that makes them the money. Offline grinding doesn't really do that. Obviously they will give a way to get cards for a percentage of it. I personally think they should give the offline cards a way to get them by playing online because most of the player base are online players. I hate having to grind moments or showdowns for cards instead of missions in rs or events. It should be easier to get the cards by doing the offline grind but still possible to get them by online.
-
I may be wrong but weren't like 22 of the 26 STL FB/legends grindable in one way or another? It's always something.
-
I know this will sound stupid but when I played offline only a couple years back. I would make my own missions for some of the unattainable cards. Once I finished my own missions then I would go buy the card off the market and it somewhat felt like I accomplished something. So maybe something like with Ozzie Smith do.... Steal 7 bases, drive in 7 runs, and get 7 XBH. Or make it however hard you want it. Just keep a notepad next to you and mark it off as you do them.
Quick Edit
Cardinals drool, Reds rule!
