Let me ask you this. So when YOU are pitching, do you want to throw dots? Or would you prefer your pitches to not go where you intend them if you have a perfect pitch? It goes both ways.
I'm sure everyone wants to throw dots with THEIR preferred pitching mode. Why should anyone be forced to use something they are not comfortable with? And why should they be punished for their choice with pitches aimed down and in at the pitchers legs (say righty vs lefty), with perfect release that floats straight down the middle and into the hitters wheel house? It's stupid and makes 0 sense! If you don't use pinpoint, you aren't going to win as many games as those using it, it's simple as that. They may as well take every other pitching mode out of the game at this point.
With this line of thinking, should the easiest ways to play the game be rewarded the same as the hardest ways to play? Serious question. Should classic pitching locate as well as all other methods. Should analog or directional hitting work as well as zone and your PCI be perfectly located by the CPU?
I think the issue here is that the different methods require more input goals and are harder, therefore are rewarded more. I may be wrong, but I'd love to hear a better explanation. FWIW I'm a previous analog pitcher for as long as that method was available who picked up pinpoint this year.
Analog was the best and most accurate way to pitch last year. Now this year, it acts the same as metered pitching with floaters in the zone. There really isn't any explanation needed. It's not about what mode is harder. Good input should be rewarded regardless of which mode you choose. It's fine offline, but online? Forget about it!
Analog used to always be the best method IMO as well. I used it back on PS3. Heck, I liked that style back when they did "rock and fire" pitching in MVP Baseball. I also agree that there should be no RNG in the game, but when they allow methods of play online that are considerably easier to use, there has to then be some element of RNG.
RNG rules the on-line format at the end of the day.
It feels that way in RS. I'll say this. I've got in a group and we do a custom league with only LS cards and the game plays much more realistic than it does in DD. All these juiced cards with their quirks and overblown attributes I think is what causes all the RNG.

Maybe a “perfect pitch” shouldn’t be so easily executed if you don’t want random results. It’s pretty hard to square up a ball and hit a bomb. Should be hard to split the edge of the strike zone every pitch also.

I've used meter pitching for 15ish years. I haven't switched to pinpoint and I throw "dots". I am amazing at pitching.
I'm guessing your an offline player because metered pitching does not work online. I can dot pitches against the computer all day.
I play both online and offline. It's literally the same meter online and offline.. I don't understand the point of that response? Idk, I'll stick with meter just because that's what I'm used to. Give dots and get dots. It's not like the opponent throws dots and you don't have the same opportunity to throw the same dots. That's what I don't understand about the argument about your opponent painting spots. It's the same opportunity for both sides.
Because I can aim directly on any corner; for example a high fast ball up and in with a pitcher that has stellar control, H/9, K/9, and get perfect release and maxed out velocity, said pitch is release and decides it's going to randomly float down and away. You honestly must be god if you are you are dotting anything online more than once.

Awful game play for me tonight. Played 4 games. Won 3 of those somehow (the one I lost was on HoF) and I literally was constantly late to every pitcher. Felix Hernandez. Fastest ball is 93? Late, late, late. Unreal.
Maybe I’m tired. I dunno. But I’ve two weeks off and mostly played in the morning and everything was butter.
Sooner we have dedicated servers the better.

I totally agree with that. Pitching in general needs to be more on point with hitting. Pitching is def OP compared to hitting. My only gripe about this thread was the complaining about the opponent throwing perfect pitches, when in reality you can throw perfect pitches too. Pitching is so much easier compared to hitting. Idk the best way to "fix" it though.

best way is to take away pinpoint pitching or make it less effective

Maybe this is true. Pitching is just so much easier to execute well compared to hitting...

I think pinpoint is great - until you face someone who is smart enough to set up inside the zone, and then throws balls "near' but out of the zone purposely. At that point it becomes no fun- IMO - anywhere where the pitcher can pitch it, the PCI needs to be able to travel to hit it. If that's 5 inches inside, or 5 inches off the plate, that's the only way pinpoint pairs with a PCI system that works.

Never thought of that….they just aim in the zone and “miss” with the downward motion away from the zone…? Pretty smart.

Pinpoint Pitching with Felix, Degrom, and Cabrera is just too overpowered. Its just not fun to hit anymore...Would much rather lose 7-6 than 2-1...
Stick to allstar. Anything above is just zzzz.

To me, the biggest problem with the meta of ppp and dots all day, is the non pci hits and home runs from the Chippers, Ortiz, et al.
When the only offense in games comes from poor placement hits, there is a problem.
-
Um. I do fine online and again have only used meter. Not sure what you define as “work” as I’m no goon but I win >70% of my event games every event and do BR quick enough. Have you ever used meter?

I'm to the point where I just tank my record to keep playing on All-star. I know I wont get to world series anyways, but at least I'm actually having a fun stress free time now. I play to hit dingers not to throw shutouts every game and bat below the mendoza line with my god squad.

Hall of fame starts at 700 I believe right? or if you're at 680 and match with someome in the 700's you have to play at HOF?

Correct.
I played 4 games last night. Won 3 on AS the one I lost was on HoF. Through 4 innings I was 2-0 down and got one hit. I quit out. That ain’t no fun to me.
