MLB The Show 19 Fail

I've seen such ridiculous stuff with base-running this year that it's hard to be surprised anymore.
A few games ago a dude hit a clear single, but for whatever reason (maybe accidentally) he decided to round the base and head to 2nd.
The ball was waiting for the runner halfway between 1st and 2nd. I hold the tag, the 2nd baseman goes for the tagging animation and the baserunner dives past the glove to be safe. I had to rewatch the thing several times to get to terms with what had just happened.

MLB The Show 19 was a fail before that play ever happened. I'm not gonna reiterate the laundry list that's been previously stated on why online gameplay was so bad this year
But yeah, that call was beyond horrific.
The example of the inability to tag runners out has been a reoccurring problem since the beginning, and for whatever reason, just keeps getting ignored.
