Mookie. Worth it?
-
There are already several top tier RF/2B righty batters available for the Mookie card to be a necessity. When you have righties Jackie, Vlad Sr., Soriano, Acuna, Stanton, Sanberg, Trea Turner, etc., available for RF or 2B (along with a future 99 Clemente card), the Mookie card is not worth breaking the bank for. In addition, having lefties Harper, Walker, or Morgan available for playing at either RF or 2B, even further reduces the necessity of spending for the Betts card.
-
Jackie is all I need for 2nd base.
-
if you got jackie already no not really.
but i got him and he replaced jackie for me at 2b

Personally yes. Probably not why you think tho. He will be a good 2B and great bench! But along the way to mookie you also have to have/get lots of really good cards that you have to have for him which means you will also get those cards on your team. You will need Ohtani and if you don’t already have him then when you get him you will have him and mookie. But if you were to say just lock in stubs then no because you don’t get the cards along the way. Thoughts?
I completely agree...the last few days I have heard so many comments about how many millions of stubs Mookie costs and it just isn't true. All the cards required to get Mookie costs the stubs and because you have those, you get Mookie. If you truly are spending millions of stubs just for Mookie, then you are doing it wrong. It definitely doesn't make sense to spend all the stubs for one card...but to spend them for the entire package is a completely different story.
People say you will never use all those cards...but if you play events consistently, you will definitely start using cards you never thought you would have.
So mookie doesn’t cost the stubs because all the cards you need to get mookie cost the stubs? I’ve heard it all.
-
I hope I get him by at least January so I can actually use him for a good amount of time. They will release new free cards that will make him cheaper over time

Sorry if you don't get it...but Mookie didn't cost me a single stub. At noon on Tuesday I logged in and went to collections and clicked the buttons for the vouchers and then was given the option to add Mookie to my lineup. It didn't matter who the collection was, I would have collected them and none of them would have cost me any stubs. I already had more than enough cards...Mookie didn't cost me a thing. Diamond Dynasty is designed around collecting cards...hence why there are collections.

Just stop. All the cards you need for Mookie will also be needed for the next collection and then some. There's a good chance there will be one more after that, and all the cards you'll need for the next one, will also be needed for the final one. Now if you don't want Aaron, Mantle, Trout, or whoever the final collect is, then yeah, you don't need to collect for Mookie. If, however, you do want the final collect, you'll have Mookie and whoever else is in the collect path.

So you can say he’s worth it. Not that he doesn’t cost stubs. He costs at least 2 million stubs. And that mookie is what they are rewarding you with for locking those stubs in.
Mookie isn’t worth it. Maybe if you’ll be around for later collections. But it’s something to do and aim for so I will get him maybe.
-
he cost me about 900k stubs
i liked him last year, so i'm using him again.
he took over Jackie at 2b
-
Probably not....but if there's another "Big Collection"....you'll probably need Mookie at that point right? Just like you basically needed Mo to get to Mookie.
Guessing because this is my 1st year playing this long...

I don't have him yet as I'm waiting to do the POTM and then ill have him... and this week i spent 60k stubs on two 'signature' cards I needed and I'm skipping the 'milestone' collection because i needed 5 of those... everything else I already had just by playing the game and/or buying cards when they were extremely cheap because of all the packs that TA3 gave and the flash sales that made headliners extremely cheap previously.. we knew there was going to be another collection at some point with increased requirements. If I had to guess, in total I might have spent 300-500k.. but since spending that over a couple weeks, I made that back easy with investments / playing the game.
It boggles my mind when people are like "L! this card costs like 3 mil stubs" yeah it would cost that much now if you haven't played at all this year and are starting from close to nothing
-
I am going after him and flipping cards if you have the time is great I made 150k yesterday flipping, I played a little after work. I flipped at work when I could and can, flipped at home while playing. After I get the prime card I put buy order in, I will be down to 4 milestone cards and 4 cards to get Ohtani, We will see how long it takes to get him, Plus 3 Sig cards, The daily are going to give two of those away and dailies have AS and HR packs in it. Buy the end of this month I will have betts.

I keep going back and forth about doing the collection. I can skip 1 set, but because there's so many cards I would have to get & lock in that I wouldn't use I almost feel like the milestone & award sets are must do. Unfortunately those are two of the more expensive ones.
-
he was definitely worth it for me but that’s because i had the collection almost done when it dropped. i have him in the outfield because his reaction helps a lot
-
I was able to get him right away because I never sell a card unless its a duplicate. Is he worth it if you have to buy cards to finish him? Not even close but he won't be the last set and everyone you use for him will go towards the next one anyway.

You're dumb. You spent stubs to get the cards to get him. There's zero chance you didn't have to buy any card used for him. Stop trying to be smart.

He cost a ton. I had a lot of cards and 1.3 million. Went through all those stubs and had to sell Justice and a few other Awards players to get him. Probably shouldn't have but Mookie is one of my favorite players and it is a video game so I said [censored] it and pulled the trigger.

If you bought all the cards straight up he’d cost about $5,000.
You can probably buy a signed Mookie Betts bat, ball and glove for that.
