The over run 2B out

Animations suck. I posted the other day saying that the inability to field a bunt, while in bunt defense, and throw out a runner with 40 speed at the plate because your first baseman is taking his sweet asss time ruins the online experience. It's usually good players 700+ that bunt cheese in extra innings.

I'm not reading all that but a simple way to avoid this is to highlight the runner and select the base you want them to stop at. Shouldn't have to do it but it does work.
I do the same thing everytime.

It's so much quicker to just bump the L1. And, the documentation says L1=advance all runners. R1=return all runners.
And it works exactly as the documentation describes it all the time..every time...until the AI is into animate an out mode.
I'm just pointing it out because it's, undoubtedly, part of the that whole enchilada. The one where the AI controls outcomes up to the extent of making it embarrassingly obvious. Embarrassing only to the ones that wrote that snippet of code. I mean, we all know we're being manipulated by the smoke and mirrors..but the really good flim-flam folks hide it much better.
So, to your point..thanks for the tip. But, I don't suspect in this very instance it will make any difference. Sure will remember to try this next time I'm in that very situation.
BTW, I almost always use direction button to highlight the runner at base when taking a lead, stealing, etc.
It's just in this very moment where you are completely taken by surprised by the hi jinks..it's much more intuitive to hit the single bump as opposed to assimilating in the 2.5 seconds you got what the AI just tried to pull on you. what base and control 2 different triggers simultaneously. If it happened more often, I prob would be a little more prepared.
Again, though, due to the rarity of it I believe it to be a coded mechanism to incur a resulting out and no controller input will change that. Just a gut feeling gained from playing this game and seeing the same old song and dance many times.

I’ll hold L1 until they get passed the initial base, then highlight where I want a runner to stop like mid way to the next base. It sucks with multiple base runners though, because if you don’t give one individual directions, they’ll likely do something dumb.
-
It's not really quicker to hit the bumper. I don't know about you but I usually need the runner to be near first before it will recognize me telling them to go to 2nd. You can highlight them and hit the button for 2nd as soon as the ball leaves the bat. Also I thought you just left for Fifa again like 2 days ago?

The animations don't animate real life physics consistently. They're gorgeous, but shallow. I've dated a couple girls just like that. Rimshot.
Code that's too bent on creating an outcome to give any consistent consideration to the laws of physics.

Is this your story or mine?
I want to hit L1 like the documentation says..and like it works every time except when HAL is pushing for the out.
So, are you an insulted programmer? Sticking up for the team? Wanting to bust my balls because I've pointed out another ignorant hole in the game? What's your agenda my bro?

It's from lag online while using L1. I've had it happen a number of times. The best way to avoid it is by controlling the runners individually, as described by others.
When I have multiple guys on base I control the individual runners. When I have one guy running around base....let me ask ALL you guys this...when I hit L1 without taking control of that single runner what should happen? Why in the world of manipulated gaming..In the world of just plain logic...should I have to resort to directionally controlling the single runner on base when it's easier and The Documentation states...just use L1/R1?
So, you guys are wanting to paint this like it's my fault. That's rich and EXACTLY what you mofo's do out here.
Be accountable..that's all. Admit your mistakes..that's all. Don't try to repaint the canvas with these deflectional suggestions that the games fine..you ain't doing it right. Silly boys.

Dude you're just a huge cry baby, get over yourself. People have tried to give you tips on how to avoid some of your problems and you are always like "BUT THE PROGRAMMING" or "I'm going back to Fifa, wait no I'm not, actually yes I am but no I'm not". Grow up and either learn to adapt to the problems or continue to encounter them and cry like a baby

Cry Baby..ha. Fix the game Ramone..you won't get complaints. Otherwise..STFU.

And there it is, the final calling card of every childish baby on here. Call someone Ramone, congratulations

You ain't seen a final calling card yet. Well, not from me anyway.
Again, if you don't want to hear complaints..fix the bugs the customers report. Don't tell them some silly sideways approach to getting around the bug.
You're all Ramone to me..anyone that has the audacity to try to bully and blame customers reporting problems or raging about experiences. Those that feel it's so important to deflect anything negative about the game they rudely attack the customer base. You all represent the same thing.
What you do out is here is like working for a company and setting the complaint box on fire so you don't have to face the problems.

thank you guys this is very helpful

You're like the kid that gets mad at his parents because you got burned on something they warned you was hot. People have given you workarounds and you refuse to use the. So yes you are the idiot here. I said we shouldn't have to use workarounds but they are there. If you choose not to do them that is just plain stupid.

I didnt say it was your fault man. I said its caused by lag online. It wont happen to you playing vs CPU, but it will happen to you playing online. I've had it happen to me plenty of times. Its not "the game fixing a result" or whatever you are wanting to currently believe. Its lag, that's it.
-
I know it's been mentioned, but individually targeting runners is always safer, and it's a good idea to practice with it and be good at it. There's tons of instances where I want to go 1st to 3rd on a single or 2nd to home on a single, etc etc and don't want to advance all. Individually targeting and sending all my runners to exactly where I want them to go is just like second nature now.
-
Broken. Always has been. Select the runner manually or at this point it’s on you for knowingly using a broken mechanic
-
I've been getting better with targeting baserunners instead of using the bumper...my only issue with it is that sometimes I have to hit the stick two or three times to actually get them highlighted. It definitely is easier with multiple baserunners to use the bumper if you are wanting to advance all of them....but my trust on that bumper is pretty much nonexistent at this point.

How do you know its lag? No offense, but I don't believe you've got the metrics and measures to know this. Just like I don't have the metrics and measures to prove the game is coded to produce a "over-run the base out".
But, we both know it could go either way.
It's a very rare thing. I would think if were lag..it would happen all the time when you're using L1 only. Wouldn't you?
I only use L1 when I'm running a single runner around the bases. I hit doubles a whole lot and triples occasionally. This has happened about a dozen times.
No offense to you, don't take it that way. But way too many people have an agenda to smooth over a lot of the intentionally coded bugs in this game by saying it's network related or your controller has issues or whatever. Not having even the smallest clue for sure, because they are working from such a very small sample set themselves.
I believe it's a software bug..you believe it's lag. Neither of us know for sure.

Nope..you're wrong. You may be a good guy, you may be a troll, but in this particular instance..you be wrong.
Read the manual. L1 = Advance All, R1 = Return All. End of story.
