I was pitching Ohtani in the first HoF game against the Tigers. He gives up one hit in a complete 3 innings. Just easily painting the corners with him. I scored 5 and completely let off the pedal.
The very next game ONCE AGAIN ON HoF, Ohtani couldn't touch the edges. I mean..the very same controller I just used 5 minutes before in the first game suddenly wouldn't lineup at the sweet spot on my pitches. I guess that's what happens when DDA difficulty changes..heck I dunno. So, the Angels get 2 runs in the first inning. I might as well quit and start again because i know how this one is going to go. And WHY?
Does QA not notice these things? If so, why let it out the door? I just wish I could understand their philosophy on these things. If it's on purpose, it's poorly done and looks to any customer as hugely manipulative and inconsistent. If it's accidental..clean up your code.
-
I did win the 2nd game 3-2. For whatever reason..'ol HAL just wanted to make it an uphill interesting ride. Constant reminder of who is really in control of these games.
-
I remember playing NCAA football and you’d have your 3rd-4th year dynasty team with all 5 star players. You’d score 50-60 a game throughout a season then play a team that’s like 1 and 6 on the season. EA would make a the game a complete controller breaker experience. Your qb would over and under throw everyone. Your receiver dropping the passes that actually get to them. Running back fumbles in redzone. I’ve lost many remotes to NCAA football lol

I get all the other stuff that is just as inconsistent but done, I suspect, to maintain parity through a DDA scheme of some sorts.
But, for God's sake, how can one Conquest game on HoF be a cakewalk where you score 5 in the first then just purposely start over-running singles/doubles just to get outs to end the game. Forget the AI team ever hitting the ball because they don't.
The very next game with the exact same pitcher/lineup against a like rated AI team/pitcher that 71 pitcher will start throwing unhittable fast-balls (the 'ol stand-by "very late") at the very top of the zone. 80 David Fletcher suddenly fouls off 9 pitches in order to force one in the zone that he promptly bruises.
It's undoubtedly also DDA code that is just very poorly written. C'mon guys, it's embarrassing to frustrate the fan-base with such amateurish code. It's like going to McDonald's and ordering a Big Mac and getting a $hit Sandwich.
I see similar things in the EA games as well, but.................WHY..WHY..WHY..WHY..WHY..WHY..WHY?
Easy - to sell stubs. DD is a trash mode that needs to die.
Lol DD is the only reason this game is in existence. You offline types are clueless about business. Unless you want to pay $150 for the game.

I'm fairly certain that SDS would answer with
" Well....that's baseball!"
Which has been their go to response for 5 years now that I'm positive of. -
I have seen teams win 10-0 in real life then one week later lose to the same pitch 10-0.

You're right. You never see pitchers go from unhittable to serving up BP. It just doesn't happen.

Both. Grinders and people with skill don't need to buy stubs but some still do especially when a card or pack 8s released that they "must have." Also, people that can't play nearly as often as others but buying stubs is a drop in the bucket since they work and all will buy stubs. I play quite a bit, complete all BR programs, make WS, play all events to get the card rewards and I still bought stubs early on to get chipper a little early. I could have totally waited and got chipper but I wanted him fast and spending money on those early stubs was not an issue for me. So now i have so many stubs I find myself ripping packs for fun. I didn't need to buy those stubs but I still did. I thoroughly enjoy DD and wouldn't even think about buying the game for offline modes or just online rated. DD is going nowhere anytime soon.

I don't think Sony would care much at all without that sweet sweet microtransaction money. Look at all the baseball games that died out? And yes Sony does have exclusive rights now, but that wasn't the case when all the others folded.

Exactly, I'm sitting at a little over 2 million right now. If anyone thinks this is some complicated scheme....take a look at recently added players and profit, you're welcome.
It is [censored] near criminal on how easy it is to make stubs in a short period of time.

I've played less then 10 games online in 8 years or so.
I've also never spent a single cent on MTX and completed the collection awhile back for Chipper.I completely understand where you're coming from...however this game is unbelievably easy to make stubs. If you're buying stubs you're either lazy or just plain dumb.
I've said it before with the new roster updates. The stub swing is just insane. I mean for fucks sake there are countless cards at 5 stubs that sell for for around 200. It isn't difficult, stop being lazy put in a few 100 orders and make 10k to 15k a pop

You said the ONLY reason the game existed was because of DD.
Have you rethought that statement yet?
It's a popular mode sure, but even without it the game would exist, it would just be less profitable. You are completely wrong and I stand by my comment 100%. Sds upgrades DD every year. Look at franchise and offline stuff. It's secondary. DD is the main draw and money maker. My statements are 100% accurate. Don't get mad because you play offline. I'm not busting your chops but DD is king around here. "It would just be less profitable." I'm guessing you're not a business owner.
I'm not sure you understand the conversation whatsoever. Diamond Dynasty is the money maker for San Diego Studios. End of story. That is what we are talking about.

I've read it and written myself many-many-many times. Why can't the developers code to the degree that there is a difference..CONSISTENTLY... in difficulty levels? Is it that daunting of a task??
Make up your mind... are they selling stubs and making a fortune or does no one buy stubs because the cards are too east to get?
I only commented once so I'm not sure what you were talking about as far as making up my mind.
Do you think stubs are so easy to get that no one buys them? Or do you think they are making a fortune off of stub sales?

I was going off the asinine comparisons OP made with the Ole McDonald's.
I figured since it's crazy time I'd chime in.
edit Forgot that OP went with the Ole EA bad brrrrrrr
edit crying about difficulty spikes.....Evidently OP didn't do the Gary Carter program.
In other words...suck it up buttercup
