No new roster updates until July 30th.

Heard someone say that SDS is waiting until July 30th for the next roster update so the second half of the season can get some ,'steam'.
What's this do to cards like Walsh another potential upgrades?
-
They need to do monthly roster updates. That way we would stop seeing guys go diamond and two weeks later back to gold. Now everyone gets to go diamond. IMO diamond should only be for the elite players @ each position. I.E. Trout, Acuna, Tatis, deGrom etc etc. They should cap it @ like 3 diamonds per position. Diamonds should be RARE IMO. Or they need to make a new tier of diamonds like black diamonds that would be rare like pulling Trout.

I agree that guys get bumped up and down a little too regularly but I just checked the inventory site and there are only 55 live series diamonds out of over 18,000 total live series cards, which still seems pretty elite to me. That is only about 3% of the overall live series cards.

^^^^^^^^^ My whole point is that Diamonds should be for Superstars i.e. Trout, Acuna, deGrom, Tatis etc etc. Then guys like Castellanos, Yates, Jose Ramirez are great players but not superstar levels. That is why they should create a new tier of diamonds for superstars and all the other guys can have high gold ratings or the lower blue diamond ratings.

So Trout is a superstar and the other diamonds are not? Have you watched baseball the last 3 years? Trout hasn't been top ten in a single hitting stat in a long time... I'd rather keep it how it is, so we can use the stars we want and not get stuck with the Trout top player every year. Trout isn't even the best player on his own team... If Trout is a superstar currently then most this years live diamonds deserve good cards too because they put up better numbers for consecutive years. Trout is way overated and true baseball fans want the real studs of the current MLB to have elite cards too. I know people will line up to defend Trout being the best, but before you do provide true statistical evidence that Trout is one of these 4 or 5 top superstars that deserve the only diamonds... because the real numbers can't prove that.

Should realistically be 90+ is diamond and reserve the low 90s for guys like Castellanos and JRam, who are not true five tool players. They are still elite at one side of the game and head and shoulders above most of the league when it comes to hitting. Yates should be someone falling in the high 80s of the system I'm talking about.

The problem with that is that those diamonds would most likely be even rarer, and therefore even more expensive than they are now.

They need to go back to the old ratings system

@PScrabro_MLBTS
The last time Trout was healthy for the year was 2019. His stats:
Batting average: .291
OBP: .439
Slugging: .645
OPS: 1.083
27 doubles
45 HRs
134 gamesSaying top players are overrated might be the cool thing to do but it's not true at all.

Wouldn't mind that. It's a very rare occasion that I pull one these days, but when I do I'd like it to be worth more than the quick sell.

There are not 18000 LS players.

What numbers are you looking at? The fact that when Trout is on the field he’s the best player. That’s a fact. Look at his slugging, OPS, OPS+, OBP. Those numbers are a true reflection of what he does when he’s on the field. He’s top 5 or very close in those categories every year.

That is the point though is Trout hasn't been on the field much.... he hasn't been a top 4 or 5 in any batting statistic in the last two seasons. Why would Trout have one of the 4 most rare top rated superstar card in the only series that reflects current performance? I disagree with the post I quoted about Trout ect. should be the only diamonds superstar players. Trout should be a 99 sig not a 99 live series

@PScrabro_MLBTS
You can't base things off of 1 covid chartered season and this year. Go look at the numbers I posted that was 2 years ago. He is the top player, you can try to argue but you are wrong. The only person up there with him is deGrom and if Ohtani does this for a few years he will probably be higher than both of then. -
Covid shortened season*
-
Lol. I wanted to know if anyone would think investments would possibly take a dive. Instead, we're talking about who deserves to be a diamond.

In answer to the original question I think investments will stay static until July 25th then start to tick upward. We typically don’t see much movement the week before a roster update
