I had a night like that last night. I couldn’t not swing at every pitch. Lost two in a row. Felt really bad to just play that bad. It’s okay if my opponent just beats me…but I just sucked so bad it made it worse.

I feel like half my online mode games are impossible to hit because the pitch speeds are ridiculous. I can't catch a 97 mph fastball in ranked on all-star, but against the cpu. I have zero issues with heat... seems like a lag issue.

Latency is a real b!tch. The thing I find interesting is whenever I watch some of the top streamers they never seem to have latency issues and if they do they don't mention it.

Makes me wonder what they got going on that I don't? I have 1GB internet, a $700 gaming router, PS5, etc. It's weird.

I've been told that I need to get a monitor to keep up with pitch speeds. I have considered it... I'm worried that I get one and it's not the issue. I just feel like if it's a screen speed issue, it would be in all modes and not just online... but I am not a computer or gaming guy so I'm kinda clueless on how all of it works. I know I play madden half the year and have zero issues with lag.

Idk if it’s just me but I typically win every 2 out of 3 and go on my occasional 5-8 game win streaks when I’m hot but I’m playing straight .500 baseball at HOF and hitting .200 with an ERA of 4. It seems like at the plate that it’s on legend and I have no time to react to the ball. I honestly feel like I can’t even see ball sometimes. That makes my pci placement and timing just awful. Probably average 4-5 hits a game. And it also seems like my opponents can foul off any pitch and hit any pitch out. Idk if this is a slump or because I don’t have wired internet for the time being but I was playing on legend not too long ago doing better than this. And it’s not like I’m playing people that are insane at the game. Last game I just lost was a walk off home run and his pci wasn’t touching the ball, go figure. My monitor has a reaction time of 5 m/s so it’s not the best but it’s definitely not the worst

Something going on with connections/servers. I have days I can hit everything and winning is easy on HOF. Then days like yesterday where I was getting blown away on all star with 93. I just ended up quitting last night as game wasn't enjoyable at all. Felt like legend on all star with pitchers at 30 ft.

Don't pay any attention to Hustlin. He must have that coast internet and never sees what we are talking about. Watch a east/west coast streamer, they rarely say something about warping pitches. No one is going 150-20 at my house. I would put a ton of money on that.

Majority of really good streamers seem to be from the coast (NY, NJ, Florida).

Peer 2 peer gaming sucks. Say I am playing pitching_rebel. He is like 1,400 miles away. Just common sense will tell you that connection will not be great and someone is going to have a bad game. More than likely me with fiber internet. Do you really think the guy that goes 300-20 every year is having a hard time? Games that you see the ball really well, reading pitches and turning on 102 easily, he has these basically every game. It is the only way you can have those records every year. I can also tell you that Florida internet is trash. He wouldn't sniff 300-20 at my house.

    Couple of questions.

    What state are you from?

I thought there was a setting on high end gaming router's that you could set a ping limit. Anything above this and the router would not connect. If so, could you set this low to try to avoid matching with worse internet opponents? Or set the region where you can connect to an opponent? Not sure but thought I saw something like this on really high end routers.

Toronto Canada. My specific gaming router doesn't have a setting to select opponents based on ping. At least not for TS. Most of these types of gaming routers which have this services are designed for PC gaming and/OR specific games.

I might grab a nighthawk xr1000 router to test and see if that would give me more options for ping based opponent selection.

To be fair, if you're not using a monitor then you are at a severe disadvantage in this game. I'm not very good at the game (only around 25 games above 500 this year) but I started on a TV in TS18 and hated playing this game as I couldn't hit anything-even offline was a struggle. Moved to a monitor after the madden season (before TS19) and wow what a difference that was. I still sucked but I stopped striking out 18x/game lol

I played on a monitor for a month this year an i dont think its worth it unless you got money for a real big monitor. I find it more enjoyable playin on a crappy 65 inch tv than a 24 inch monitor. Maybe i could see the ball slightly better on monitor but man it feels like playing countstrike ona 24 montior. Id take 3x bigger screen an just get use to the tv over the better ms montior an all that

I just went on a huge slump. Tbh I think it’s because I only ground CPU last couple of days to complete TA3 so I couldn’t hit anything

I lost about 5 in a row. Went to 380. Oof.

Last game I was 5-0 down at bottom of the 9th with 1 out and pulled it back to 5-5 and won in the 10th.

    Maybe I’m back baby. Maybe.

One thing I have noticed and I am very analytical is when I play people from certain areas it is a different game. Just had a game against a 12-0 BR WS guy. First 3 innings I had 6 balls either perfect or well within the PCI on HOF and had 1 hit. If this would have been someone with KC in their name, I probably would have had 4 hits and a couple of runs.

Game was 2-2 after the 7th and he rocked O'Day. My issue isn't with losing at all. He was obviously a really good player. My issue is not getting rewarded when I do what I am supposed to do. SDS doesn't understand that you can't match make people from halfway across the U.S. and it be a good gaming experience for both players. This is why most games have multiple servers across the U.S. SDS is the only company I have seen that doesn't get this.

Forgot to add, stealing is impossible as my player will sit there with their thumb up their [censored] until pitcher almost releases the ball.

Someone made a point about how accounting for such a large area (65" tv counts) of the strike zone makes it more difficult to A. place the PCI and B. time up the pitch.

I find that looking at the strike-zone on a 27" monitor makes it a bit easier to react and make adjustments from pitch to pitch.

I will say that when I play someone from my state, I have a much easier time playing and can usually get a couple of wins, but if I am playing anyone from out of state, I either give up 836 home runs or lose 1-0...BTW I have gig internet also and a ps5...

Not sure if it helps or not, but I cancel the matchmaking if I don’t get a matchup reasonably fast. I feel like the longer it searches, the worse the ping will be.
