Custom League stamina glitch for SPs?
-
I was hoping the MLB community could help me out here, so I run a 28 man custom league and some of my users have been complaining about a Starting pitcher stamina glitch where pitchers with high 70s to low 80s stamina are going over 110 pitches and their meters are barely past the halfway point. I’m at a loss and was wondering if anyone knew if this was a glitch and how they trigger it so I can figure out a way to outlaw it in my league.

Lower your sliders within league a couple notches and they will get tired sooner.

I'm in a league and we've had a similar issue. The issue doesn't seem to be anyone doing anything cheap, but more about pitch types. Pinpoint pitching, which I use, does not seem to drop as much stamina as meter pitching, which most everyone in the league uses. One thing I noticed though is that when my opponent gets runners on base it affects my stamina more than when no one is on base. In a way, this is realistic because it's putting pressure on the pitcher, but I agree that getting the guy to high pitch counts should do the same.
The real fix is making sure people stay within realistic usage and pitch counts. Personally, I rarely if ever use relievers for more than 2 games in a row unless it's playoffs. I also use my starters for realistic numbers. My starters in our league our Verlander, Strasburg, Berrios, Ynoa, and Happ. I'll let Verlander go 110 if he's not allowed much, which is realistic. Strasburg, I typically won't let go over 105. Berrios I keep around the 90-100 mark, unless he's throwing a no hitter. Ynoa I keep in the 80's and Happ may get a longer leash, but not normally over 95.
Obviously, you can't police everyone, but you've got to hope people play realistically and don't use guys out of order either. Hope this helps some.
