Does Trout Go Free Agent?
-
Not a chance the gatekeeper of the AL West falls to free agency. The only diamonds to do that are 5k ones even then it rarely happens. Kirby Yates has been hurt all season and he's still part of the Jays collection. Infact the only one i can think of is Ken Giles and he had gone gold already.

Dont forget Verlander. he went 60 day in February and was never moved.

The astros also said that he won't pitch at all this season.

I did think about this the other day, kind of.
Imagine in like 6/7 years when you quick sell your 23x duplicate 67 rated bronze Trouts

They do not ever send the diamonds to FA,

No there is no consistency about when they do that. Last year Trey Mancini stayed on the Orioles team for the whole season despite being out with cancer. There have been several other bigger name players that are hurt for long periods that SDS never removed from their team.
-
Chris Sale hasn't pitched in 2 years and hes still a diamond on the Red Sox roster. No way Trout is moved to the free agent pool.

Not only did this happen after the season, there's a significant difference between moving a diamond to FA because of injury versus moving a guy to FA because he sexually abused a child....
So yes, technically saying they never do it is incorrect, but common sense and context matters...

Happened 9/17/19, still during the season. Happened at the same time his TA card was replaced with a Gerrit Cole.
-
Probably explains why it wasn't logged in the roster update. They just made the change the same day he was arrested.
