You people need to realize that folks use R2 to check pitch sequence and location. Some might be, but the majority don't even know they're causing you ladies to have menstrual cramps. Get over yourselves.

So I can see where your previous pitches were.

I mean, why does it affect the pitching animation. Like when you're using pin-point and they press R2 and release it, it messes up the entire pitch. I understand the batter to see the pitches, but it shouldn't do that to the pitching meter thing. I just played a player that quite literally relied on doing this 3 times every pitch of every at bat.

Honestly if you're on here complaining about this it means you have no patience and can't wait the 10 seconds to throw another pitch.

This just isn't true. You could wait 5-10 seconds in between every pitch and come completely set, but your opponent can still hit R2 and screw up your motion with pinpoint. I actually don't mind people using R2. I use R2 to see pitch locations, but I hit it for a fraction of a second as soon as the screen resets so I don't screw up my opponent's timing.

The real issue here is the fact that someone can hit R2 after the pitch has already been selected and the "tracing" motion for pinpoint has started. That should have never made it past the play testing phase. There are definitely compromises that need to be made here to somewhat appease both sides.

Because in baseball a bat boy walks to the plate and hands the batter a piece of paper showing location and sequence during the at bat....right as the pitcher begins his delivery.

I'm an xbox player and never even knew what R2'ing was since I don't know what button that corresponds to. after seeing this thread i realize I do it all the time since it sounds like RT on xbox to check where the previous pitches went. oh well. its not like im doing it to be purposely annoying.. its just a feature in the game so i use it .

If you need to check the pitch location with R2 every single pitch 3 times, then you have some big issues you might want to get checked out.

I use it to, and more times than not, the hitters use it normally and doesn't really do much bad. However, there's others that base their entire game around doing just that so that they can get you to throw a bad pitch by messing up the pin point mechanic thing and it is super annoying because you only have 2 choices. 1. spend the entire game waiting like 10 seconds per pitch which is just so tedious, or 2. take the risk and throw them a meat ball they can hit

I use it the 2nd time through to see pitch patterns. But after that most players use the same sequence and screw themselves

    Just 3, you're lucky.
Most of these guys spam it during every pitch.

So people don’t spam 5 pitches in 2 seconds

Still don’t get being quick pitched in a video game that you’re supposed to be paying attention

Still don't get why the R2 apologists are seemingly unawares of how this feature is abused and spammed against people who aren't quick pitching. It's real, folks. Quit telling us to wait 10 seconds to pitch -- we're already waiting... because... we don't want R2 to mess with the pitch location. Amen. Stop telling us to wait!! We're waiting, and it's being abused. We're doing nothing. Not pitching. Waiting. Watching the R2 warning flash a billion times. If anyone asks me why I last played an online match a long time ago... this is why. Crisse. Calice de tabernak.

They could just show the location of previous pitches while the strike zone box is up, and have them fade away with it… people need to stop with the spastic quick pitches (balks should be called, period), but so long as pitchers play within the rules, batters should not be allowed to control the pace. That’s horseshit.

I do it when I suspect my opponent is using pinpoint. If he is using any other method I wait for the game to hang one for me.

    I’m split on this.

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal to wait for people to stop holding it, especially when you see the icon there.

I think people do get carried away with “quick pitching” at times. Like how much caffeine have you consumed? I am ready and alert and again, not that big of a deal. But people do this to control tempo. Same with holding R2. When people are pitching extremely fast it can get me into a swing friendly mindset and throws me off but that’s up to me to control.

Just wish people didn’t abuse either one. Just be a normal person.
