Why the bunt hate?

there's a difference between the guy's bunting in a bunt situation and guys bunting every other batter because they can't get a normal hit.

actually bunting does take skill. If you miss with the pci or/and have bad timing, have an average or lower bunk/drag bunt stat, you could pop it up, bunt to hard or at a fielder, or your bunt goes foul. A foul bunt with 2 strikes is an out. So its no automatically a non skill based hit.
I’m honestly shocked you have a pci when bunting. It takes such little skill to do it you had to make up a skill that doesn’t exist to make it seem more skillful.
And have to have high bunt, Yea that’s a skill lol. Also one of the best bunters in the game has 43 bunt and 25 drag bunt. Not gonna tell your cheese ball self who it is although he’s probably in your lineup.
Some of the most notorious against the shift bunters are sitting at 36 bunt or lower and if they could do what you consistently do in the game in real life guess what the shift wouldn’t work lol.
And I know how to defend it. It’s just whether you get lucky or not. Because I hate to break it to you nobody is looking at you bunting 30 times a game and stealing bases because the catcher won’t pop and thinking how skillful you are.

I don’t bunt because you can’t hit a bomb if you’re bunting!

I understand people “bunt cheesing” but I wish others knew how to play small ball.
Earlier today I won a game. I was down 1-0 and had a lead off single by Torre. Next at bat he hits Tom Glavine, so runners on first and second with no outs. Lofton is my lead off man, so I place down a bunt so I can at least advance the runners and if I’m fortunate enough get on base. His second baseman proceeds to try bare hands it but misses the ball (I still had it beat if he picked it cleanly). He proceeds to pause the game and messages me, calls me everything under the sun for bunting and how I’m no good etc lol I’m like dang dude, it’s called small ball. I ended up winning the game, but mind you my previous at bats with Lofton was swings as anyone who has played in years past know how glitchy his swing is.
Just wish people knew how to play certain situations and don’t get mad at you for silly things.
Couldn't agree more, I don't mind it if someone does it in certain situations or even try to lay down a drag bunt now and then. It's the ones that do it all the time, but usually u can counterbalance that with a defensive adjustment so I say good luck to the ones that do it all of the time. Btw I probably would have played it the same way u did. Once a runner was at second with 0 out move em over get em in. Just tell the ones that are toxic and message u to watch a baseball game sometime .

It’s tough imagining someone bunting in a video game.
You’re either at least 48 years old and talking about how baseball was better in the old days, or you’re a no skill cheeser.
Smh boomer generation wants to take the easy way out every chance they get

Bunting is the cheesiest thing and the wussiest thing you can do in any sports game ever. It shows you suck and so you just hit a button to bail out cause you're terrible.

If someone is mad about a situational bunt it's because they were too dumb to think of it as an option and didn't try to pitch against the bunt.
-
People who wear diapers bunt in video games.

Dang, I check my post from this morning and I see a lot of haters for situational bunting. People who hate on it is probably the same players who go for it on fourth and 30 on their own 20 in madden and rage quit when they don’t get the conversion lololol

Same thing happened to me the guy called me every name in the book. Situation Biggio on 2nd pitcher up, no outs 1-1 game 7th inn, bunt. His pitcher throws it into right field, I score

I hate when people bunt to lead off an inning, just praying for a speedy baserunner.
Your situation though, seemed totally fair. Obviously the guy was mad because he knew he was about to lose, and feels it was solely because of the bunt (not the winning run he HIT to put on base…)
Think about it this way: in real life, how many teams would’ve bunted in that scenario? I would bet a very high percentage.
