Do any of you guys experience this as well?

When a ball i[censored] into the gap, it feels like the outfielder furthest from the ball is the default outfielder. Shouldn't it be the closest?

Lol I feel this sometimes and I’ve also had it happen on occasions where I try to switch to another outfielder and it will switch to second base and then I’m scrambling trying to lock on to the original guy to make the catch smh haha

Happens to me too. Sometimes the unselected player will stop while being the closest to the ball and he'll just watch the other guy come from the other side of town and barely get there in time.

“But the left fielder calls him off” - I hear that commentary a lot.

Also with a ground ball to the outfield it auto selects my outfielder straight away - sometimes j think SS could make the play judging by where the ball is. And that in turns make my centre fielder move out of the way of the ball and a single becomes a triple. Sigh.

Against the AI they are quite adept at hitting a ball that splits your players and confuses the player select.

Sure is fun to watch the AI rip one right up the middle just left of 2B bag so your 2B runs across and can’t get there, SS goes across behind just a fraction too late, CF takes a bad angle and finally your LF or RF, whoever decided to backup the CF gently collects the ball.

I have seen that so many times, even back to back in a game.

AI hits it and cue Benny Hill music.

Just go with the auto-select; if you switch you’ll screw yourself more than going with it.

I feel like it always picks the slower player that has to travel farther.

I’ve had this too. I’ve had it a few times on grounders up the middle and during shifts too, where it wouldn’t let me switch to the other infielder and as a result I just watch the ball slowly dribble by.

This always happens after your opponent gets a jammed oppo single with their pitcher. Next batter is an awkward gapped.
