Every pitcher in the game has perfect command of all pitches ... breaking balls and changeups always on corner for 2 games in a row ... how the [censored] is this real baseball when theres never a mistake made ???
this is gettint out of hand with the pitching accuracy ... when you dont see one ball in the middle of the zone in 3 straight RS game ...
they sure know how to ruin this game
you can still hit homers outside the PCI tho...This year's game has been a major upgrade when it comes to pitching.

It certainly didn’t help it. People that don’t know how to pitch probably like it though.
Dude stop. "People who don't know how to pitch probably like it" lmao. The game forced pitches with good input down the middle in 18, 19 and 20. The guys who liked that were the scrubs who can't hit pitches on the black and have to wait for those cookies down the middle to be somewhat successful. I'm not gonna make assumptions which category your or OP fit, but take a good long look on the mirror and decide for yourself.
So to you the opposite of that was to put it in the exact same spot every time with such a simplistic system? Then when your opponent hits it’s just random output? Okay. I just always base my opinion on the fact that gamers nowadays, and after 8 years in sports games especially sports gamers, win at every cost and want to cheese as much as possible so if something new is added to the game and the majority of people like it then it probably isn’t good for the actual game. If a YouTuber found a way to bunt for a base hit every time 100% right now that is all you would see online until it was patched.
And I’m alright at the game. Would be better if I enjoyed it online. In actual games I’m probably 80% win and would be higher if I cared to enough stick around. I pitch with analog by the way and still think it’s too easy compared to the randomness of hitting. But it is what it is. And that’s the game.
If you can hit pitches in every location, it doesn't matter if your opponent can throw accurate pitch after accurate pitch. However, If you can't hit every pitch in every location, then yes you have something to complain about. Case and point I would assume.
So you telling me sinker up and in is real baseball ? telling me being patient at the plate ... looking for a pitch you can drive , forcing pitchers in fastball counts ...man this isnt even baseball its all about who can put the PCi on the ball at any locations ... why take any pitches then there is no point because anybody can spot a offspeed in a fastball count.... you just a stupid fkin gamer ... not a baseball fan gtfo lol
Bro you do realize this IS a VIDEOGAME right? I think you're comparing this to real life a lil too much... Madden...2k... the show... They're games not actually real life lol I crush those up and in sinkers though all day... just like i would... in real life..

I am curious, is there still a bit of Pitcher RNG, even with Pinpoint?
In other words, if you use pinpoint and have perfect input on every single pitch, there is still a remote chance of a hanger based on the Pitcher ratings, right?I ask this because I doubt you could use a common pitcher and get perfect results on every pitch regardless of the input method.
With PPP u will see a transparent circle around the and that represents the "error" window that the pitch could end up even with perfect timing and release.

Sinker up and in has nothing to do with the pinpoint mechanic and everything SDS shoddy programming.
Has everything to do with it as with pinpoint you can just dot up and in broken sinkers
So what? Just crush them. I don't understand why people have so much issues with these sinkers despite it not being realistic.
Because for every player that can consistently hit that pitch there are probably 25 that can’t. Add in that connectivity and frame rate really impacts high velocity inside pitches and quite often those pitches are unhittable.
I want tweaks. Up and in sinkers being the best pitch needs to go. In the dirt curveballs and chamges need to be more effective.
I think pinpoint though is straight cheese to the point of running 4 verticals in madden.
So the fact that Cliff Lee threw 6 shutouts in a year doesn’t constitute dotting like he does in the game??? And if you know up and in sinkers are being thrown, then sit on it? Learn to adjust. What are they supposed to do, take a sinker out of the game? And if we are complaining about pitching just know that most baseball scores irl is 3-2. So most of the time pitchers are dotting and there are a bunch of line outs, get over it.
I agree with alot of this except,"what are they supposed to do,take a sinker out of the game?"
No, but they could program sinkers to act like sinkers. They should flatten out when they are thrown in the top of the strike zone. Also they shouldn't rise out of the pitchers hand when he releases it.
You never see sinkers thrown high in the mlb, and this game claims to be a mlb simulation. Every ranked game you will face a sinkerballer and they will spam sinkers everywhere in the strike zone except for where they are thrown in real life, low and in. Oddly enough in this game you can easily hit low sinkers, WHICH AGAIN, isn't simulation af real baseball

I mean, if we are going to talk about realism, it is pretty rare to see nine innings of continuous dots on the edges in the MLB.

I mean that part really isn’t too hard to understand.
Take the new Cliff Lee for example. If a guy had thrown 6 shutouts in a season, you could understand how his control would be elite. As someone most of the time would need to have elite control irl with a little bit of luck to produce to that extent. -
I think I’m in the minority when it comes to my views on this topic, and the game in general. I personally don’t use pinpoint (yet) because the mechanic seems disconnected and arbitrary, and negatively impacts my sense of rhythm when pitching.
I have no doubt that others can have a sense of connection to the game and rhythm using ppp, so good for them.
I wouldn’t say it has “ruined” the game, but it has certainly made an already difficult game more difficult, at least on the hitting side of things. I can practice trying to get my pci on dots every day, but I will not be passing 700 anytime soon.

Just wanted to bump this thread to say I agree. It's a cool addition but it needs to be nerfed.
-
It’s just too easy. No amount of testing the system was gonna account for all these full time players coming in an making it ridiculously easy to get perfects

Do yourself a favour and just look up his games played then hit block. I rarely block anyone, I think I have 3, if you have 4 games players and 40 posts about gameplay per day you make the cut.
Man Im 40-18 In RS ... i use pinpoint too and its way overpowered.... its not baseball .. nobody in history has that level of command
Bro, use pitchers that doesn't have such high control and you'll see how much different it is. If you're pitching Degrom, Scherzer and pitchers like that you'll see good players hitting their spots almost all the time, but very often will miss their spit as well. If you can't be patient and wait for your pitch them i dont know what to tell you. Use 85 Kimbrel in Ranked seasons and you'll see that you can't land a pitch where you want even with perfect pitching.

I can't even make pin point work so I can't see what everyone is talking about. I know the metered pitching is a joke, never seen so many pitches end up down the middle on perfect timing. But ironically it's still better than hitting on this game. So dull having 2 or 3 hit games over and over.
-
I think it’s overrated. It’s effective yes, but you can crush any pitch that’s a strike. Doesn’t matter if it’s a dot on the black, if you get your pci there and time it well you can still hit it hard. I actually seem to hit pitches on the black better than hangers. It’s more of a read/react. Hung pitches give me too much time to think.
Meter has been totally fine for me. They improved pitching as a whole. I’m very rarely having random pitches float to the middle like years past. People just assume it’s PPP but it’s pitching in general. It’s all very accurate and if you miss, it’s usually a ball and not a hung pitch down the middle like before.
