Jared Walsh RP Secondary Position?

Not sure if there’s a thread on this already but is this a mistake or legit? Has him listed with RP,LF,RF as his secondaries. Are they going to start doing this for guys who’ve pitched in blowouts and give them Rizzo type stats? Who’d honestly use him as a RP

He was a 2 way player in the minors up until 19 i think. And im pretty sure he even pitched in a few games in the majors in 19

He pitched for the Angels in 2019 and pitched 160+ inning between minors and college. I wouldn't compare him to Rizzo or other position players who pitched in blowouts.

I think he has all outfield positions now as a secondary as of today.

Per the link you attached, he has thrown 21 innings in the minors and 5 innings in the majors. The rest of his innings were in college. Last I checked college ball is not minor league. It does seem very strange to have RP listed as a secondary for him, when he does not currently qualify as a two way player. The stat you referenced undermines any argument for having it listed.

My mistake. I didn't notice it included his NCAA stats in the totals on Baseball-Reference. You are correct it is 21 in minors and 5 in majors.

Dude Arenado has always had 1B as a secondary and he probably hasn’t played 1B since middle school. At least Walsh has SOME experience as a pitcher.

Feel like I vaguely remember Arenado playing some 1B in the WBC for team USA a few years ago but I’m not sure
