Nope, Hitting and pitch timing is on point in this year's game. With testing the feedback window, even before it even goes up I can tell if I'm early or just early or good and I'm on Legend at pitch speeds at 10. If you feel the timing is off from looking at the feedback you might have what I call "privileged casual noob syndrome", where your "skills" don't match up with the results you're seeing so you look for some kind of blame...so obviously you blame the game's mechanics and not user skill. Don't worry "privileged casual noob syndrome" is quite common in today's instant gratification world but there is a cure.........practice and get gut! Or maybe stop playing The Show on a TV and get yourself a decent monitor πŸ™‚

Thanks for chiming in you walking talking d-bag

If you're playing on a TV, try game mode if its available. Also, what system are you on?

Anyone else have very inconsistent hitting and pitch timing?

I was waiting for someone else to say this. I will be the first to admit im not the best player. I play with directional hitting and I can already here the comments coming from admitting that. However I have always been VERY GOOD with pitching. On Rookie, Veteran, All Star, even Legend. There was a mission a few years back to get the Yoan Moncada card you had to beat WhiteSox on Legend in a 9 inning game. It was brutal and tool me two tries but pitching is what kept me close. This is the first year since owning the game (Show 16) where im missing my locations horribly with ANY pitcher. I even noticed that even the ones I paralleled to IV or even V, I miss too with them. So its not just you. Hitting timing may be different for me cos I use directional so I cant really speak for most but I will say I get a lot of balls the CPU calls early or late and I was right on them, ESPECIALLY IN MOMENTS. Also a lot of "underwater swings" where it feels like my batter is swinging a 100lb bat and phantom swings where the ball is right down the middle and my good to near perfect swing swings through it.

Oh I'll take your word for it, I would never play online with those cringe noob people anyways, so I'm good, I want to play a game of simulation baseball not some slow pitch arcade game so its offline Franchise on Legend at pitch speeds 10 with a mature Slider set.

Convenient of you to play offline where no one can verify your claims. Glad you chose to comment on this post and act like an arrogant toddler. Way to flex your pitch speed. We’re all really proud of you.

If he’s a β€œprivileged casual noob” then you’re an β€œentitled elitist snob”. There was absolutely no reason to rip into the OP, he was asking a question based on his experiences with the game. People like you are the problem with gaming, not the β€œnoobs”. You take it upon yourself to designate who the β€œnoobs” are and then you dump all over them and think yourself to be superior. Guaranteed you don’t say much in real life and wouldn’t dare talk down to someone like that face to face because if you did it would be lights out. Leave the guy alone.

I strongly disagree, hitting timing feels the same, and pitch timing feels easier this year than in any year past. 25 Games 0.63 ERA. Pitching is to easy this year. Which in turn makes hitting timing feel harder. Just my opinion.

I changed to a smaller, much newer set and it's like night and day. I was always late swinging on the bigger set. You should check out getting a newer set or game monitor. I think they're much better for gaming.

Your batters leg plants on time EVERY pitch fastball or change up. The rest is picking up the ball out of the pitchers hand. And always look to hit the ball the other way 100% of the time. Waiting that extra second to hit to opposite field helps wonders on good contact and also judging balls and strikes.

Zone hitting with analog stride replacing buttons to swing. You have to press down on the right stick to load/step and then up to swing. The timing of the entire swing is all on you and it’s awesome. You can still choose to power swing or contact swing by pressing the buttons you would normally use for those prior to any pitch/swing so the motion always stays the same. I recommend it. I fell like my timing is way better that way.

Me too. I feel like it’s the most immersive way to play. Gets you to think and react the way you would when actually hitting a ball.

This game online is extremely flawed. The timing is manipulated by SDS. The servers are laggy AF. It is not real baseball. People think they know what they are talking about saying this is the best hit timing and nothing is wrong. MLB the Show developers are horrible. This game is nothing but straight garbage when it comes to actual gameplay between peer-to-peer.

Graphics are good though. That is my only compliment.
