    Pujols Perfect Timing

Someone explain to me how perfect timing on the Pujols Topps Now moment on a high splitter right down the middle went 15 feet foul. That's just some incredible proof of how BS this game is. Sometimes, I feel the game randomly selects what happens, and you have no control over it.

Nope, Hitting and pitch timing is on point in this year's game. With testing the feedback window, even before it even goes up I can tell if I'm early or just early or good and I'm on Legend at pitch speeds at 10. If you feel the timing is off from looking at the feedback you might have what I call "privileged casual noob syndrome", where your "skills" don't match up with the results you're seeing so you look for some kind of blame...so obviously you blame the game's mechanics and not user skill. Don't worry "privileged casual noob syndrome" is quite common in today's instant gratification world but there is a cure.........practice and get gut! Or maybe stop playing The Show on a TV and get yourself a decent monitor 🙂

just fyi, hitting timing is way different online when you have to deal with the crappy servers. you have to be way earlier on almost everything just due to server lag

Oh I'll take your word for it, I would never play online with those cringe noob people anyways, so I'm good, I want to play a game of simulation baseball not some slow pitch arcade game so its offline Franchise on Legend at pitch speeds 10 with a mature Slider set.

Convenient of you to play offline where no one can verify your claims. Glad you chose to comment on this post and act like an arrogant toddler. Way to flex your pitch speed. We’re all really proud of you.

    Signed,

“Cringe noob person” lol, you clown.

    Swing Path and Timing Question

Can someone explain to me how the timing meter can be so radically different from pitch to pitch? There are some inside pitches where the timing meter actually says it wants you to catch the ball late in the swing for "perfect timing." That doesn't make any sense. Also, some of these swing paths are hilariously bad. Some of them are so outside-in that it looks like someone with a broken golf swing that hits nothing but a monster slice. If a baseball player actually had a swing path like that, they would not make their high school team, much less make it to the MLB. I just really don't understand some of the logic that SDS put into this game. It does not really line up with real baseball. Disappointing to say the least.

    Topps Now Pitchers

Can something be done in Topps Now moments where pitchers don't become cowards when you are one hit away from completing a challenge? Can they be programmed to actually attack the hitters because I was a hit away with Mountcastle, and the pitcher refused to throw a pitch within a foot of the zone. It's pretty frustrating when you spend a ton of time trying to complete these crappy moments

    Swing path/timing

Can someone explain how swing timing and swing path vary so radically from pitch to pitch. Some swing paths on balls right down the middle make zero sense to me. Some inside fastballs want me to catch it late while some outside fastballs want me to catch it early? It doesn’t make sense. Feels like a random roll of the dice sometimes from pitch to pitch

I may get crushed for this, but...

This game is just bad. It’a not that realistic. Guys hit homers while completely fooled while players actually recognize pitches and have great timing and hit choppers to short. Heck, I fouled a ball 20 rows into the stands today and the ball somehow funneled into the third baseman’s glove. It literally went through the foul ball net.

The hitting timing meter is broken. If it were realistic, inside pitches would have to be caught out front a little bit. The same goes for pitches away. Heck, the same goes for pitches up and down in the zone. These things have been neglected.

It’s frustrating to see the game mismanaged like this. It could be so good, but it sadly doesn’t meet my expectations. I play cause I love baseball and miss playing, but I find myself getting mad and frustrated with the game’s mechanisms than really enjoying my time.

    RE: Hit Timing

Update: just got "good" timing on a hanging curveball, and it was chopped two feet in front of home plate. What a joke.

    Stats during “unhandled error”

How is it that the game can log all the stats that happened during the game I was playing when the servers were down but I don’t get credit for it in missions? [censored] [censored]. Trash. The users deserve better than this [censored].

I've been getting a lot of perfect/perfect foul balls lately. I don't understand how a perfect timing hit can ever be foul...but here we are.

I don't think perfect/perfect was intended to be like that...in real life you can make a perfect follow through and contact and hit the ball square where you don't feel anything but it goes right to a fielder or foul straight back but your launch angle was off or you hit it slightly away from the barrel of the bat or slightly under or over. I think your DD casualness expects a simplistic black and white arcade experience.

If it’s slightly off, wouldn’t it just not be perfect-perfect?

    Monthly Moments vs. Topps Now

When did Monthly Moments get so easy and Topps Now get impossible, I can’t get Yasmani Grandal to hit a single ball in the air, but it took me 20 minutes maybe to finish all the Monthly Moments?

Also, the game is slow as [censored].

Clemente 4 hits, 2 XBH Moment

For the life of me, I can’t get the dude to get extra base hits. Tons of good to great timing. Plenty of perfect-perfect and haven’t had any extra base hits. Does he not power swing well?

    Zunino

Does his card just suck? Trying to do his moment and have ~14 power swings with contact ranging from good to perfect and the best result was a decent line drive down the left field line. Mostly weak grounders, swings and misses and one liner up the middle

It feels like fastballs are getting on me way quicker since the last patch. I'm getting gassed up by 95 when I was a good bit early and had to be patient to wait before the patch

Saying you're late on 95 mph fastballs could mean anything...do you mean 95 on Default pitch speeds or 95 on Max pitch speeds?..this varies a lot. A 95 mph on default pitch speed is basically an 80 mph curve ball on max pitch speeds.

I mean, I'm playing online? Like everyone else.
