Teleporting baseballs?

I just hit a base hit into centerfield online in the events and on my screen it showed the ball going to the wall because the fielder over ran it. I'm rounding 2nd on my way to 3rd and the ball is in the 3rd basemans glove all of a sudden? Lol
I am an Xbox rookie, do these kind of shenanigans happen online often?

It was lag, you saw a misplay,but in actuality the fielder picked it up and threw it in. hard to know before it happens,but if you suspect lag its best to be cautious baserunning

I also tried to record the clip, it recorded only the first 2 seconds of it though. Lag is why it didn't record the full play isn't it?

Was it a crossplay game? That was happening to me a lot, but I turned off crossplay and it hasn’t happened since.
