XBOX Series X Version Unplayable????
-
So let me start off with a few things...#1 I am not a huge gamer, so I may not always use the correct terminology. #2 I know I need this game on a PS5...but there is the stock issue as the biggest factor. So here is the deal...
I got the game at launch and didn't even realize it but for the first month I had been playing the XBOX One Version...for some reason my Series X grabbed that one. I switched over to the Series X version when I realized it and have always felt the game was very glitchy (not smooth)...framerate seems to be all over the place and seems to be worst when trying to line up the PCI online.
My son has a PS5 and the PS5 version...whenever I go into his room to do something for him it seems like a completely different game. Sometimes because of his schedule he will ask me to do his daily moment and stuff like that and it just plays so much better and hitting is so much easier. The other night he wanted to try out some of my cards (on Series X) that I have that he doesn't have yet. He just kept saying "Dad, something is wrong...this isn't right. That ball would go out of the yard on PS5... Pinpoint shouldn't be this hard....that shouldn't happen..." He kept playing and I went to bed. The next morning he said, "I need to try and find a way to get you a PS5, because that isn't fair."
So...I started messing with settings and really didn't have much luck. Eventually I turned off 4k on my Series X, but it only helped a little. Then I tried the Xbox One version...it was about the same. The best combo I have tried so far is the XBOX One version with 4K disabled. It was noticeably better as even things like moving through the marked was smoother. This morning I also switched to pure analog hitting from zone when playing online, because it just still seems completely out of wack when trying to lineup the PCI.
I guess I am just curious if Series X users are having the same issues and if you have found other solutions. It just seems crazy that I would have to play the XBOX One version and turn off 4k to even get to somewhat of a starting point.

I have the series X version and the xbox 1 version.
The series X is no less than 25 times smoother than the xbox 1.
Perhaps it's your TV.
Take your series x and connect it to your son's TV and see. -
I have both systems also but I actually prefer to play it on the Series X. It could be your TV or monitor perhaps. I think it's faster and smoother on Xbox. One more thing i should add is that I use an Elite Series 2 Xbox controller. Not that i think the original Series X controller is bad, but it doesn't even come close to the Elite Series 2. You can use the paddles to hit or whatever you want.. But I think the thing that helps the most is the adjustable and replaceable thumbsticks. I use the middle setting for my left stick to hit with and I use the tightest setting for pitching on the right stick. I also use the extended left thumbstick for hitting. You can customize everything on it. I know they're expensive but it may be worth a try.

I can't say anything about the Series X version, but I have a PS5 and Series S hooked up to the same TV. The PS5 version is super smooth and crisp. The Series S version is a lot worse. It's definitely next gen since it has the stadium creator, but it looks a lot more like the PS4 version and gets choppy. It's difficult to even read the words on the cards on the roster screen. I tried looking for video settings in game to make adjustments but couldn't find any. Pinpoint was also an issue on Series S so I had to go back to meter on that. Luckily I will probably only play The Show on the Series S if I travel since it's so much smaller than the PS5.

Definitely Frame rate issues. I play on the S myself and it goes smooth for a bit then randomly has frame rate stutter. You can see it on the pci itself and then when the pitch is coming. Seems to happen a lot online when you get people on base which makes for a very bad game. Maybe it’s the f’ing birds. It certainly isn’t my monitor.

Exactly. Same issue, on Series S. Framerates randomly drop

Thanks for all the info guys...helps me think I'm not crazy and the comments about the TV have helped a lot. When my series x would turn on my TV has always said "game mode enabled" but it looks like that wasn't the case. I played with settings today and when toggling game mode permanently on for that HDMI input, it is now playing much smoother. Didn't do any online, but offline was a completely different and more enjoyable game. Really interested to try online now.

I am here too. I am very very very annoyed that there hasn't been comment about this. I know "we read almost every post" - but at least acknowledge us who spent money on a system and game that you guys can at least replicate the framerate issues and are looking into it. Especially when some of us built tools for the community and are dedicated to their love for this game to do NFP work.
It happens online and offline, and does not happen at my friends place who uses a PS5.
I think I've personally figured out recently what's going on but would love to hear from others regarding confirmation.
Framerate lag seems to happen more after I've either prompted the quick menu or the quick menu auto-prompts (when you're at the pitcher in the lineup) - whether I sub or not, I'm guessing a process stays active after the pause, and never quits and just keeps running, taking up processing power, removing the ability for the system to focus all the power on the framerate.
I'm quite confident it's also not the birds at this point.
But it's very real and very frustrating to work through. This isn't a game where framerate issues cause small problems. It gets to the point where literally changeups and fastballs look the exact same for 3/4 of the way there because you're only seeing half the frames of the break.
Happens online and offline and it seems to be after the 2nd or 3rd game of the day, after the menu was accessed. And then it's every game after the menu is accessed onward.

Been playing on series x since game launch, never had a problem.
