Thats the problem, that it may be a videogame, but they use audiovisual triggers based on the real thing to make it engaging, and that you feel like you are actually playing. So if you going to do that, then you should respect former ballplayers, who love the sport, and when they try to play, they fall into frustration because that which it seems so real, they cannot apply their years of experience neither in hitting or pitching, just for the sake of "its just a game" Then they shoud put cartoon graphics, and use fictional players names, since its just a game no?

lol what mode is this based off of….let me guess diamond dynast which is far from baseball

No its Online rated. Most of these troubles are all over the place anyway. and In Dynasty mode it's just silly the odd behaviour of the game. No matter how good a hitter or pitcher is, if you make a good pitch, a good timed swing, good things should come your way, thats baseball, but not here.

Im a game developer, so trust me Im not. Thing is you see things other people maybe not because you know the tools of the trade. But when you claim to be a realistic simulation, and have parameters in the batters like "plate discipline" its not just a game. Surely poses like one. My point is that they are luring baseball fans with a supposed great simulation experience, just to cash grab on everybody manipulating the outcome with shady mechanics like lowering the hitting positive outcome, so people are way more time playing because most of the games are low scoring games, like soccer. And then if you winn like 3 in a row, magically everything goes wrong on your next game, no matter what. Unless you find somebody who just bought the game.

Most of your post is a frustration for me too. But using the pci is much more realistic than directional because you actually have to use hand eye coordination. I don’t care which one you use, they both have the same bs tho. Lots of questionable results. Pitching does make you hang pitches across the board unless you are able to be perfect every time on pinpoint.

The most frustrating thing is that if you try and play or pitch like real life, it isn’t as effective.. well pitching is for me at least but I coached college ball, but some of the results are laughable compared to the real. And most guys throw the same every with every pitcher and every at bat. It’s frustrating that I literally have my pci set on the spot yet the ball never goes anywhere 90 percent of the time .( yeah I’m looking at you high inside sinker or fastball guy) I can’t time it or if I do it is a weak pop up or a 490 foot foul homerun lol

Funny, because when most people say something about the game playing poorly a lot of people on here say practice more….which indicates this board takes it way too seriously

Whats wrong with my profile? and what points do you disagree on? Careful, being all over the place and hard to understand can be easily mistaken one with the other.

you mean playing this game? its low, I don't play often, just like 2-3 games a week at most. I think it's like 1680-something I wont take the time to find the number sorry, its around that. and no matter the score, I have no trouble with losing, its just the game its not what its selling out to be, if I may repeat myself. Getting used to swinging blindessly to supposedly hit the fastball in time, its not baseball, is batting lottery.

Well if you practice into getting accustomed to things that are wrong, you are inbound to find some skill after a while. But I don't understand why when the changes required to make this a REAL baseball are so simple, we have to unlearn baseball to play this? I have a friend who was a ballplayer on his youth, and bought both the ps4 and the goddamn game just to relive the baseball experience, but he just told me, "I can't hit"

lol yes man its laughable really, thats the sad thing, most of these kids that don't know what real baseball is, they are being misled! and then, when they go to the real thing, we may be losing a lot of maybe future pro players because they feel frustrated and ashamed, that they cannot use even 5% of whatever batting skill for instance they may have acquired in the game. I'm not saying that videogames or this one in particular should become your next virtual trainer haha, but at least give the kids a chance to understand a little of what baseball is really all about. If you gonna brag you are the real thing, act like it no?

yes, but how many hours? but forget about your team rating, congrats on that btw since its been an effort on your part nonetheless.

My point is: you want the player stats to influence the outcome? ok, I can live with that, but for instance, it should influence in the type of contact according to the landing zone of the pitch, its unbearable to see, some people think its a good pitching strategy throw you letter high fastball right down Broadway, just because its a mayor popup/ flyball producer.

My point in regards to the cash grab, is that if you observe, playing with people who has spent money on the game vs people that has not, you will see that the game heuristics (or backstage outcome handling) start to decline against you really quickly. they try not to be too obvious of course, but its there. If you pay enough attention you see it. If the other guy makes a serious effort, you will end up losing or in very very bad situations out of the blue.

Also in Dinasty mode, no matter who you have in the roster, if you pitching is bad and your batting timing is bad, you just likely lose, instead of magically win when you happen to do this right, and in the meantime the engine is holding the other guy back.

you are right and we didn't even have to read his diatribe of an essay - just skimmed all the way down - surprised by the effort and time spent - typical TSN forum at its best lol

Boy, this is a creepy post to look at. Sure, the guy may be upset, but he makes some valid points, some ideas that relate to how to make the game better, some things that he thinks occur in baseball that are not reflector in this simulation game. I could see debating with him, but you people gang up on anyone who looks at the game this way. "It's just a game?" No, way really? If it's so meaningless why are you reading a post on its message board. It's just a condescending way to speak to anyone. What does his score have to do with anything? He bought the game just like you, these are his consumer thoughts. You debate and discuss like children in junior high and honestly, I would have thought that a group of men playing a baseball game would have some level of decency and intelligence, I guess I was thinking of the real sorry not the video version. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or my gamer score isn't high enough to be included in such a high brow discussion, but I can't say I'm impressed. At least one guy finished a book once and learned the word diatribe... It doesn't really fit here, but it's really pretentious, points for that.

Hmm, i agree with you OP. I dislike trying to throw a pitch at the corner of the strike zone only to have it thrown down the middle for a homerun. I'm using the pitchers #1 pitch with 99 control. This happens way too much.

I also hate giving up a homerun on a pitch close to hitting the dirt. I know your pci can't reach that low under the zone, yet i give up a homerun. No a swing and miss, fowl tip or ground ball. Especially if its a sinker. I've had home runs hit on sliders, change ups, and sinkers clearly un hittable.
