Well, there goes my stubs. Just got it built back up some, after acquiring gold and unders, but this is definitely going to put a hole in my stub wallet. But, he is my all-time fave so back to grinding USA.
I’m down to 32K stubs but did a bit of counting and when my investments start paying off in a week or so, I’ll have over 1.2M. Can’t wait. Hate being poor
i hear you there. im on peasant stubs after buying degrom
Yeah I would be too. Always like to have a decent amount in front of me but had so many investment opportunities I just spent them all and they all went up so much past week or so.
Now I’ve completed the LS so it’s not as bad but I always feel weak without any stubs lol
My biggest regret from Friday was not spending my entire 2.5M stack on investments.
That’s exactly what I did with my 500K. Spent every last dime and the cards I bought are already up 3-4K each and I have hundreds of them. I bought alot of cards that not many else did I’m pretty sure. Didn’t touch any of the LS or space packs
I only dropped 1.1M but I should come out about 700K profit from it when it all sells.

What I struggle with is when to pull the trigger. A few are easy to figure out but some may be more lucrative later

Today..
I know the velo shouldn't be too great. (Though they gave Glavine a 96mph fastball lol). But his control will be maxed out! I'm excited to try this card
Hampton is awful because his sinker floats like a change up. Orel is tough because his sinker is 90 mph knuckle ball. Hopefully Maddux is like Orel.

Maddux threw 96 and was considered a power pitcher with the cubs. He also ran it up there with the braves but threw the 2 seamer at around 92 which was his primary fastball because he became a pitch to contact pitcher. Maddux threw a lot harder than most think he did as did glavine who threw it up to 96 when he had to. They just didn't have to because of movement. Velocity was also measured different back then.
This. Maddux threw gas for the Cubs but didn't have the control. With his control later on, it didn't help that he got some inches on both sides of the plate. Hitting and pitching superstars did. Don't know the exact mph but he threw harder for the Cubs early in his career than with the Braves.

Ya 93 tops. 88-89 later, and down to 86 at the end.
You can literally Google it if you don't believe me lolAnd btw, 93 was considered heat in the 80's and early 90's

Got lucky and pulled him in the first pack I bought. He is nasty.

His gold card was a nightmare to face in the event and also fun to use so I'll all for this.
Have to go see his 2nd half numbers from that year to see how he'll look but I know he was locked in that year
He was ridiculous that year! Basically that few years. Unhittable.
11-1 with a 1.62 ERA
95k/15bb in 105 IP.
Basically he will have lower K/9 but super high H/9.
Control high 90'sI love the 2nd half series man so many more options to add some great cards
You know who would make for a ridiculous 2nd Half series player? Legend Adrian Beltre.
At the turn of the century, when Beltre was playing for the Dodgers and Mariners, my fantasy baseball strategy was built around letting some who was only looking at year end stats draft for him way too early and picking him up off the waiver wire just before the All-Star Break. My man racked up highly respectable numbers as a youngster, but he barely showed up in the box scores until July.

They should really cap the number of duplicates people can own; it's ridiculous.
To be fair, the most I have of a single card is 50. I like to diversify what I invest in

Not to mention all the dupes both prop up the Market floor and cap the ceiling. I think people reeeeeeeally wouldn’t like what would happen if some of the suggested “market improvements” on here were made

I bought him. Needed another good pitcher more than anything else. Back down to 15k stubs.
-
His GOLD card was the ace of my staff.
I would trade Big Papi for Diamond Maddux. -

Maddux never hit 96.. ever.. he ran it up to 93 in his younger days at the peak, but usually sat around 89-90 with 2 seamers, his primary pitch.
I'm from back then, followed his entire career too. There aren't many pitchers I know more about than him. Have his signed jersey in my son Maddux's room tooDude yes he hit 96 and would have it hit it regularly if they used the radar like they do now. I watched him live and in 1989 he was a pure power pitcher. He threw 92 to 96 and threw the slider/ change up. He didn't really throw the two seamer like he did in 91 to the end of his career. The fast ball still moved but not as much...

Oh, I know. Faced Percival in the minors when he was first starting to pitch. Hardest thrower I ever faced. He was hitting 95 on our gun which people thought was a few mph slower than other guns. I did face one lefty that threw as hard as Percival. No idea who he was. Percival was transitioning from C to RP.

You guys do realize the devs in this game didnt even give him a 2 seamer right? At least not the card I got. Ridiculous, when you watched his whole career and know that was his nastiest pitch.

This is last years game they are talking about.
and no they never have given him a 2S FB it always has been a sinker cause the SNK has always been op and the 2S has always needed fixing. -
I can’t see it being any better than his current 96 card.

Yeah I'm on vacation so it was extra annoying/confusing to see these old posts from 1 or 2 years ago being replied to.
I thought I had missed all this big news in just 1 day away from The Show!
