So, before I end up possibly buying stubs for my kid; I decided to help him out another way.

I went into his game and started with around 15K in stubs.

I bought 900 72 OVR Bronzes and 30 63 OVR Commons and did all the TA Exchanges. Not only did hr get some stubs back; but ge got to 30pts on 5 if them, which gave me 5 Gold TA players to use in Conquest/Play vs CPU. And with the 10 free Showdown Vouchers from the Thank You bundle, I took the AL East to 60 pts. That got him 2 extra Gold TA players and his first TA 42 player.

Now all he needs to do are the TA Moments for more Gold Players and he can start on some missions in Conquest.

I also got him all the stubs for collecting the 30 Team Silver Stadiums. I then went in and bought all the Silver Equipment to get him some more stubs by licking them in. Completed two of them for him. Bats and Leg Guards.

Then I went in and put in Buy Orders for Common Free Agents until I got him enough to complete the Collect 200 Free Agents. Which gave him more stubs, 5 Show packs, and a BIAH pack.

After all that he has about 30K in stubs and some packs to open.

I also bought 10 each of the players that he wanted to invest in for him.

He should be set to hammer out some missions and XP this weekend.

Start buying cards that cannot quicksell for less than you pay. (Buy order diamond jerseys for 1k, silver flashbacks or legends for 100, bronze flashback or legends for 25). This is a foolproof way to teach him how to not only play this game without spending, but also basic investing. Just be patient until they go up, rookies today went bonkers and I expect the same out of other investments.

    Good job, dad!
When my son was a young lad and cried about wanting stubs, I taught him 2 things:

    1. Learn how to not suck at the game.
    2. Learn how to play the market.
Fast forward 7 years and he's better than me at both. Plus, he's (this is hard to admit) better than me at the real game at his age (15).
Way to use it as a teachable moment instead of just caving in and buying them.
The standard Millenial parent would have bought him $100 worth of stubs, and added a new bike and Participation Trophy to boot.
      Way to go, man!

Awesome! Bought a shiteload of Pedro's and Chipper's for 300-400 hoping they'd go up for the Silver event....they didn't

Thanks for the bail out SDS!

When I saw them around 100 stubs about a few weeks ago I pounced on them, because it was a no lose situation.

Thanks. I didn't want to do it for him. But he won't be able to even touch the game until this weekend. At least this way he can just worry about knocking out some moments and Conquest.

    That's awesome!
It's one of those little things he'll thank you for some day.
