Now, I won't be buying MLB21 because they've screwed the pooch so badly so I won't need a PS5 since The Show is the only game I play.

Every year is a rough launch. This game is better than its been in years. Gameplay wise it's in great shape. Servers are better now too. -

DD didn't work the first week rtts didn't work properly mto didn't work and franchise was buggy and last gen is nearly unplayable

Don't buy. The servers and support are the worst. Great game WHEN it works, which has been maybe 2 days since release.

Well, yes, RTTS is the only mode I play. I'm out in the boonies and my internet connection is very slow so online playing doesn't work for me, and I'm not at all interested in DD anyway.
And from what I've read they've basically taken everything out of RTTS that made it enjoyable (at least for me).
If you enjoy the game, that's great.
I'm just saying for me, this year, I'll be saving money on my gaming. I'm disappointed because I was looking forward to a new version of a game I've enjoyed since 2011 on a next gen console but I expect I'll get over it. -
