Why is there a market tax?
-
Besides the obvious SDS 'F**k you, pay me' way of getting more real world money for stubs.
Why is there a tax on any transaction?
-
becasues SDS is dumb. there is no reason at all.
-
Why does it matter?
-
No taxation without representation!
Seriously though, the tax acts as a control on the amount of stubs out there and to limit the volume of high stub transactions.
-
If there wasn't a tax, people would non stop flip cards for a very small profit. Driving the price of all cards through the roof due to the easy money to be made on the market for everyone. So unless you spend hours upon hours every day flipping cards or buying a lot of stubs you would never get any high diamonds.
-
Inflation, you think seeing 1000k for common cards is annoying if there was no tax every card would be like that. I personally have no problem with it because i don't want to spend 1 million stubs for every diamond player. Trust me it's there for a reason.

It matters because it takes away stubs...what kind of question is this?

They ask this question every single year

The market would not work like it does without it (like mentioned above). It takes stubs away, but compared to the alternative of just being auction style, we should appreciate it. That's why it matters, just answered my own question.

The tax on transactions is SDS as Sharon Stone is the movie Casino. Pocketing chips at the poker table ....stealing!
