Not to mention he's a dirt bag that just cost a bunch of families alot of money at the most desperate of times by moving the all star game

either that or players were going to boycott and there wasnt going to be an all star game...

With the lack of African American players, I don't think a boycott would be happening. Same reason NHL wouldn't boycott if Atlanta still had a hockey team.

Major league hitters should able to hit to beat the shift. If you can’t do that then you don’t belong in the big show. END OF DISCUSSION.

Tony Gwynn, Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Tom Herr, Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Willie Randolph, Terry Pendleton, Tim Raines. All guys that could beat the shift and this is off the top of my head in 5 minutes.

Problem is that most of the time now guys like that almost never get a shot. Nick Madrigal is a unicorn in MLB now whereas 25 years ago he woulda fit right in

theres enough and their team mates would support them

Wonder why they'd boycott that one game and not the other 81 played in Atlanta ??

There’s not enough and MLB has stated that in the past. But, if they supported them enough, you would have seen people more outspoken about the issues. I think only a handful of teams even kneeled for a game last year.

im saying theres enough for them to boycott and for their teammates to then support them that it would affect the all star game if it was not moved

Double header needs to go, as well as relief limit. I don’t mind the extra innings rule, speeds it up. No one enjoyed 14+ inning games, ruined the teams for weeks.

The real fix needs to be the defensive shifts, data doesn’t lie, it’s killing baseball. BABIP is in serious decline, fans like action, shifts offer no action. (I said this in a different post earlier)

I don't really like the extra innings rule. I always thought it was cool that a baseball game could potentially go on forever, one of the sport's many quirks. Marathon games are rare, but when they do happen, it's awesome (the July 4 1985 game between the Braves and the Mets went on for 19 innings and ended just before 4:00 AM!).

The doubleheader rule needs to end too, the 7-inning one. If MadBum had pitched a full 9-inning game, it would've been an authentic no-hitter, but since it was only 7 innings, it doesn't count. I also think that in the 7th inning onward, that's where awesome rallies can happen. That's when the comebacks of the century are made.

And I agree wholeheartedly on the shifting stuff. I hate how rampant shifting has become—I know it's a part of baseball and fielding strategy, but it's gotten ridiculous at this point. There ought to be limits as to how far fielders can shift, and what kinds of shifts are allowed.

What about playing in for the bunt? OFs playing deep or shallow depending on the situation? IF in for game tying run on 3rd?

If a team wants to play with 7 players to the left or right of 2B, that should be allowed. The whole point of positioning fielders is to get outs. The shift has been around for a long time. They shifted against Ted Williams.
