Is he better than any of the 42 Series cards that can play in the outfield?
I'm about 325-350 bat.avg. online and I can't hit shnit with him ... I'm not that good but every time I square with him it's a liner straight to left or a pop left center and by pop I mean a shnitty hell of a pop ... But I'm 6/9 with othani 5 jacks one double !
I probably should've edited my post to state that I'm a strictly offline player this year. (Minus maybe an event here and there).
Just wondering if he's worth locking in close to 120K when I can get 42 Grisham for less.
So am I, but I've destroyed with his newly Diamond card that is Parallel II offline only so far.
I saw one of my PSN buds notification pop up that he finished it. I was like 'Got dang, already???'How long did it take you to get halfway there? I didn’t get a chance before left for work tonight to look at how much grinding it involves?
I meant Buxtons LS card. I mentioned a friend unlocked the POM, not me, waiting for the 2nd inning to drop for my XP to count.

Do you need to do the Collection to get Buxton? I figured it was optional but when I add up everything else I'm only getting 98 out of 100 pts for Buxton. I only have 56 now but unless other missions appear when I'm closer looks like you have to do the Collection??
Yes you have to.

So far 2 for 8 (against CPU) with 2 home runs. All of the other outs have been very hard-hit but unfortunately right at someone. Grind wasn't bad, I think I started an hour after the content dropped and I got Buxton about 6 hours later. I was doing a lot of conquest to complete the missions simultaneously and only did the moments that I absolutely had to. Thankfully the collection was straightforward as going through the rewards path gets the missing Topps Now cards.

So looks like there are 26 Topps Now and MA cards. I have 24 locked in now with 2 cards left, one of which is Corbin Burnes so I'm just not going to buy the other card which is like 13k now.

I operate that all those cards are free so yes you can sell and make 120k or lock in and get alot of cards that could be useful down the road in events or mission.
That said it's nice to have options

It took me about 2hrs to do the whole thing. Not bad at all

I’m locking in every single player I can get my hands on this year, knowing how MVP Trout was the best card last year. Hopefully this years collection reward is just as good if not better
Yea but last year when that collection dropped TN packs were every where and cheap as hell
-
Was there as overall collection reward for completing all of the monthly POTM collections?
-
Absolutely. Buxton gets to every ball that comes he's way.

He’s worth it to me just for the speed alone. His LS saved my [censored] numerous times at the plate and in the field. His POTM card is juiced on hitting stats. I haven’t used the potm card yet, I just got it tonight and it’s late. No way I’m playing online, way to tired
How bad was the grind for Buxton? Haven’t had chance to look yet?
It wasn’t bad at all took me about 2-3 hours tops to finish it. A card with his speed and power will lock down centerfield for me for a while so definitely worth it considering I don’t plan on getting Trout anytime soon unless I get lucky and pull him.
-
If you do all the missions and moments you get to 98/100. The collection is worth 15, and you need 25 out of 26 total. So if you sold the TN from earlier (like I did), you're stuck at 98 until prices go down...
Which is ok, because I can never hit with Buxton and I have Lofton in CF.
I'll keep grinding the NL to get Soriano.
-
I went from like 40k stubs to 200k stubs by doing the monthly program and selling off the cards from it. Then was able to finish the 1st inning and sell of Aroldis Chapman for another 30k. I just couldnt lock in that many stubs for Buxton. I can always buy them back if I decide I want him. I dont get why they let you get to 98/100 without collecting all the cards.

That does sound like an option. Chances are the LS Diamonds I buy will eventually tank to QS value.
That being said, would you play POTM Buxton over any of the TA 42 Outfielders? Minus Gallo. I CANNOT hit with that card.
But would you play him over Cutch, Lewis, Grisham, or Marte?
-
It takes like 2 hours to do the whole program if you do it right, just do the moments and then a few games on rookie vs the cpu

Hard one to answer as I haven't used all those guys yet. Would I start him over my current squads outfield maybe but it's all about feel. I love Santander but I know alot a players don't. My starting catcher is Kendall who I swear by but never see him.
That said Buxton is one of the best weapons there will be off the beanch all year so he has value even if he's not starting

Yeah. I think until I can get Trout or they put out a 99 Griffey; Buxton could be my. CF until then.
And as you said, he could be a decent pinch runner and late game sub.
Plus the next Event stated that it's Legend or FB outfielders. So he'll get playing time there.
The more I think about it: if I sell the TN now and spend them on LS or legend TAs; I'm sure this cards will eventually drop on price.
The TN will stay high and may go higher. So if I need them for a collection.......

I started around 6 and completed around 9. Took a little longer than I thought to do most moments. I would say between 2:and 4 hours is a pretty safe guess.
