This game is not fun anymore

Game was fun for one week/weekend now the game sucks and all you do is lineout. Rip MLB 20
-
Agreed, started with so much promise, and now it's nothing but garbage. I really regret buying.
-
Absolute garbage. Losing games because it rewards poor hitting over good hitting.
-
I hate to agree with you, but you’re right. It’s very unfulfilling/unrewarding. I’ve heard comments that it’s back to last year. I disagree, game play last year felt better than this currently is. Not getting rewarded at all hitting-wise and feedbacks that might have produced hits in the past are getting nothing this year. Pitching is a total crapshoot. Fielding and assisted baserunning are a total mess.
And don’t get me started on showdown. I can hardly advance. I’ve been an OK player in past years. Able to accomplish everything they put up offline, but I can’t get even get to the final showdowns. I got there once in NL West (trailing 15-9) and came up two runs short. Welp, thanks for playing, you get nothing. Lately (granted my showdown games have mostly been post patch) I am getting knocked out at first boss in first inning showdown. It feels so all or nothing and one slip up kills the entire entry
-
I guess I’ll play conquest just to fart around. I don’t know. I hate to give up. I feel like shutting it off, honestly.
-
Agreed, I am not very good at the game to begin with, now the extra spike in difficulty has really cooked me. I am struggling to win games in Conquest and the whole thing feels like a chore, first few days were so good.
-
So many things wrong game play-wise, but thank goodness you can’t quicksell that Nick Anderson for 1,000 stubs after he’s locked into a collection. Wouldn’t want people to earn good cards to quickly.
-
Try the non-DD modes, they are heaps of fun.
-
Was the hitting window changed with all these changes? Because in the past few days I can’t even place the PCI on the ball (not usually a problem for me) and my timing is WAY off

You aren’t alone there. Feedback will show a squared up hit but say okay or some BS like that. Can’t buy a hit with good/good or better anymore. And every pitch I throw that has a perfect release, hangs right over the middle for a meatball. If I miss my release my a quarter of a millimeter, meatball or ball 10000ft outside the zone.
Umpires with tiny strike zones make it so no one swings at anything close because they know it has an 80% chance to be a ball.
SDS really screwed the pooch with this. I may take a break until the next patch.

Yes. I always have the problem of hitting Under pitches...it didn’t change that lolol. The hitting change really nerfed some of the feedback. You can hit one in the middle of the pci and time it right but it says good ok contact....or it says good squared and the ball goes no where

Yeah the first 4 or 5 days the game was amazing, tried to play today and hitting is brutal. PCI placement is sooooo much different than it was when the game it first came out. Went from rewarding great PCI placement to feeling random.
-
Tried to knock out some of these Affinity moments because I’m done with showdown until/if they fix hitting.
Affinity all on veteran, early on everything. 97 on the outside black, early. I used to do a good job of poking outside fastballs the other way. Not anymore.
Anyway, I guess it’s time to shut it off and go watch a movie
-
I’m having fun

Whenever I watch yet another "perfectly released" pitch targeted out of the strike zone "mysteriously" float over the middle to be obliterated, I think back to one of their pre-season infomercial "personalities" saying last year that they "really wanted to leave it in the players hands; not let game itself cause losses." Ha! Yeah. F**k you. The hitting was never the problem with '20. It's the pitching, stupid. There's no way a person should be punished with schitt location on a perfect release. This is supposedly a simulation; never in the history of baseball has a "perfectly released" pitch missed it's spot by 3-feet.
Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one whose controller shudders in fear whenever I enter RS! Have to say, it feels foolish to sell an overpriced digital rage suppository these days. I mean, new players in sustained social isolation hoping/needing to escape the news downloading this schitt only to step in this steaming pile of online gameplay? Yeah, I'm sure they're thanking SDS for their quality product the first time they slam the controller down and turn this thing off more pissed than they were when they sat down!
-
What I want to know is who gave the okay to completely change hitting after less than a week.
-
Yeah i agree bro. I was so pumped for a new game but it was only fun for 3 days. Honestly it feels they made hitting more difficult or they completely changed something
-
Pitching and base running are worse than any year. These devs suck. Any 0-2 pitch goes right down the [censored] middle.

Imagine how bad it is for us that were not very good at pci placement in the first place. At least I would get rewarded for good/good but now I can't even get those.
On the plus side Out of The Park Baseball released today so I believe i will be playing that all weekend and concentrating on their fleshed out Franchise mode and their Perfect Team mode instead of Diamond Dynasty
