Dudes, I'm 40, I started playing this game in 2006. I'd already graduated college, and started my career. I was married with my first child. When I say "I started playing in 2018", I'm discussing playing online. Prior I played RTTS, franchise, etc. There was a time in this games life when those modes were fantastic, and we didn't need to play DD. DD wasn't around when I first started playing this game.
I am discussing relevant information, which applies to my specific complaints. I.E. online servers and playing in an environment that requires online connection to advance a specific goal.
Don't flex your "I'm 28 and my dad bought me the game" B.S. You're flexing with the wrong crowd.

Until their multiple game modes and menus stop sending non-stopped information to servers, it won't be fixed. That will require a complete revamp of menu programing and layout. If they get that done by may, they deserve a standing ovation.
This [censored] happens literally every year. And it get fixed literally every year. Yea it sucks that the servers keep crapping out but things happen.
That's simply not true. I've been playing since '18, this has never happened. Last year we had fielding issues galore, but we didn't have this issue. Either you have a bad memory, or you're trolling?
Ive played every installment since 2006 and my memory is just fine, thanks. Hows yours? You came in at 18 right after the absolute worst launch in the history of The Show. And im guessing you missed the deleted progression issues of 18....what were you, a "i'll buy it when its $50 cheaper" consumer? And who can forget the first patch for 19 where they had to address a novels worth of issues? Obviously you. 20 was a fairly smooth release but still had its share of issues and disconnects, not on this level but again [censored] happens.

The game is a literal brick right now, they've connected everything to DD this year, meaning without servers, you can't play a single mode.

We play RTTS to earn xp for our cap, those don't report to the server when the...drum roll...servers are down. We play MTO to earn TA points for DD. Those don't report when.....drum roll...servers are down.
I think you lack a basic understanding of how much of this game requires online connectivity to work as intended, this is also why we have server issues this year. Connecting literally everything but offline franchise to DD/online has increased the packets being sent 100 fold.
I think you misunderstood what you said. You said no other modes are available, which is a lie and I disputed by saying there are. I understand how this game is evolved. I never said how many modes there are. Not to mention you can still play RTTS and MTO offline, they just won't be counted for dd. You can still play other modes in a game for fun.... "oh but I want to do something online" okay congrats I do to, but I'm just here to dispute your false claim

They have to be an xbox game pass subscriber which is $10 a month or $60 for the year.
But they don't have to buy the game.
They didn't get to play the game until a day late but big deal.
If they wanted early access they had to buy the game.
The catch is that SDS could end their free trial at any time, at which time they'd need to buy it if they want to continue. -

Not sure how much you've played this game considering your account is brand new, but I would argue that 17 was worse than this.
What does forum account age have to do with it? I started playing with The Show 14 and my forum account is less then 2 weeks old.

Actually, you are the one misinformed. Sony does not have exclusive rights from MLB and never has. Out of The Park has had a licensing agreement with MLB and MLBPA since 2017. What MLB can do though is take Sony's license away in new contracts if Sony does not do as MLB wishes. On the other hand the MLB would then lose the income they get from Sony paying for a license. What Sony does have exclusive rights to is their game, MLB The Show, which they did want only on Playstation. MLB can dictate to Sony that the game must be on other consoles or they will not give them a new license, but that license isn't exclusive. MLB has not given out exclusive rights, but they still hold some power over what Sony does with the game.

clearly didn't play 17. In 17, the servers were trash for a month, but eventually got it fixed.

I wouldn’t blame MLB solely for this mess, they are trying to make their sport popular again, this is one way to do it. Well maybe not THIS way but using video games to market the sport isn’t new. SDS has to take the blame, they ensured MLB that they could get this done without too many issues, clearly they were wrong. Going online all the time and implementing cross play was a mistake, cross play does more harm than good to a game, other games have proven that.
Sadly this is on SDS, and honestly I don’t think it would be as frustrating if they would just communicate with the community, going dark when a problem happens is possibly the worst PR strategy ever conceived and whoever implemented that policy needs to be fired immediately.

I'm 56. Back in my day, we didn't have the fancy "Google Interweb". We had Nintendo, and WE LIKED IT. I didn't have the Twitters. When I was robbed of a HR in SNK Baseball Stars, I just yelled at my 36" tube TV that weighed 150 pounds. We didn't have no fancy "gaming monitors". AND WE LIKED IT.
