    • What are Roster Updates?

Typically every week, SDS will update the rosters in DD to reflect changes in real-life 40-man rosters.

    • When does this occur?

During the regular season, usually Noon PDT. Occasionally they'll be a Holiday weekend (July 4th) where they'll release early on a Thursday. And every now and again (later in the season), they'll take a week off. But most of the time, they're weekly. There is also usually one after the regular season ends and one final update after the postseason is completed.

    • What are the different types of Updates?

    There are 2.
    A. Roster Updates: This is all about handling players that have been called up/sent down/traded/changed positions. Every once in a while, someone who's changed position might see their OVR go up or down a point but it's extremely rare.

    B. Attribute Updates: In addition to moving players around on rosters, the team will also update a players attributes and ratings based on their performance and update their card level (Common/Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond) accordingly. (For example, Yermin Mercedes and Vlad Jr will most likely be getting upgrades. Hunter Dozier, not so much.) The update scheduled for 4/30/21 has been announced as being an Attribute update.

    • What happens when a player is dropped from a 40-man roster?

Their cards are designated as free agents in the game, regardless of whether they're actually a free agent in real life. This is so users don't lose ownership of cards just because they're no longer on a roster.

    • Why wasn't [XXX] included?

Players must join the MLBPA before SDS is granted rights to use them and to be eligible, one must have actually made their debut in a game. (Special exceptions have been made for Vlad Jr and Ohtani in the past but it's EXTREMELY rare.) Sometimes that paperwork isn't completed by Wednesday night (the cutoff for a typical Friday update) which means they aren't part of the update.

    • [So and So] didn't go Diamond. Is it because SDS knew I invested in that player and hates me?

    Yes.
