Defeat SD on All-Star
-
New to DD. I see this is one of the missions for the new Houston Street player program. Any easy ways to do this vs the CPU? Or do we just have to pick a standard MLB team and win a 9 inning game vs the pads on All-Star difficulty?
Thanks guys and good luck!
-
You have to do it in DD extended play vs CPU

Under single player modes tab in DD select vs CPU and switch to all star and pick the Pades

I suck at this game so All Star is generally a pretty good challenge for me. I needed a walk off homer in the bottom of the ninth to take down Baltimore, so I don't like my chances against San Diego lol.

You'll get there. Last year was my first time playing and I now beat AS 20-0 regularly.

A great tip for CPU games is to get as good of a 4th or preferably 5th pitcher as possible. If you start your Ace, you’ll face their ace. If you select your 5th, they will select there 5th. It’s based off rating so you can’t just put him there it needs to be your 4th or 5th “rated” overall pitcher. Quite a few teams have a common level pitcher in the 5 spot, so Allstar will eventually become a breeze for you.

This is true. Use your 5th best SP to match their 5th

I know that works in Conquest, but last year in 9 inning games it seemed random when I picked my 5th starter.

guy above answered but my thoughts is do the missions and use intentional walk to speed iit up since his wind up is a long time. thats 42 points, and I like to play events so I get wiins for that and I keep in mind I need strikeouts with relievers -
Better to pick #2 for SD. think the 5th is Snell but the 2nd is Lamet. Slider primary fb 2s ch hits 99 on fb but control is bad.get lots great hitter counts.
I had Aaron got 509 ft. then Scmidt 2 pitches later went 505. and 2 innings after Cutch said "watch this" and went 512.
Hes prob the easiest one. -

^this starter showdown Shane Bieber has like 30 wins for me in conquest already

Hes prob the easiest one.5th is 80 ovr paddack, easy to hit IMO

Ah. Snell must be 4th.

Seems like for this they may be radomizing it...I started my 5th starter (monthly award eovaldi) and I got Lamet. Still beat them but it was slightly more annoying to do so lol
-
I used my 3rd starter against SD and faced Clevinger. I had never faced him before and that hard curve of his, mixed with his other pitches, gave me fits. In the later innings, still a scoreless game, I have a runner on first and my reliever Ryan Pressly (0 Contact, 0 Power) due up after he just struck out the side. I think, “What the heck, let him hit... just don’t hit it on the ground.” He jumps on a low middle fastball, smacks it 370 feet over the left field wall at Forbes for a 2-run homer. Thank you, Ryan!

You don’t need to beat SD on AS to unlock the card, I don’t think. I just did all the moments... did I miss something?
Oh wait. I got a save in an event game for the other 10.
-
So I have beaten both the teams on all star and didn't get credit for either. It was in DD under play vs cpu. What am I missing?

What do you mean by didn't bet credit? Didn't get the 35k xp ?
After you beat SD on all star on vs. CPU you need to go into the player program, into that mission and click on the Street card and "collect" it. Then you get the 35k xp
And of course you'll have Street in your inventory.
Great card btw, he's unhittable! -
You can’t click/collect it. It’s showing it’s not completed.

The clicking on it is actually clicking the options button (advance), not highlighting it with "X"
