The old extra step dance

Has anyone been able to pick somebody off who is taking the extra lead off step? I’ve thrown over at least thirty times to no effect. Is the extra lead off step free this year?

Havent played online yet, but I have picked the cpu off a couple times. Seems about the same as last year. Mostly they will get back.

Sorry, I meant online, I was referring to the legacy feature where your opponent takes an extra step over and over while you try to pick them off over and over. In the past, this little treasure of a gameplay moment resolved either when you threw one past the first baseman or you picked them off.
This year I haven’t seen either happen so far.

Only if they have taken the extra step and have set the runner to steal have I ever been able to pick em off otherwise they could extra step forever and there's nothing I could do except step off.
