To be fair we just want RTTS back, Not even being able to progress in my RTTS Game is maddening and I have stopped playing. I shelled out 80$ for this game and can't even play the mode I want to because it can't even progress or get above an overall of 56 in RTTS for some reason.
This and the fact that we're stuck with the same player is frustrating. I mean, we can't have two different players and we can't start all-over...
The Loadouts Idea with cards is great for DD but for RTTS it sucks all the realism away... We know the goal is to have us play the monitized Diamond Dynasty, but seriously, if 2021 was a setting stone for future RTTS, SDS should get rid of the mode altogether. It is perfectly ruined as it is right now...
In every career, or career mode, decisions we make should impact our player. Now, it's just about collecting cards and changing our player style/attributes on the fly... what's the point of "following a career" if there's no attachment to the protagonist and everything can be changed by adding a card here and there?

I really hope that this is only a start...
The things in your post makes the mode "Playable" as it is unplayable right now...
We're talking about making it "enjoyable" and since you said "many future goals of the system won’t be realized for some time" about the unplayable part, I strongly doubt something good will happen with the mode this year...
There's no shame in trying and admitting we're wrong. We're actually proud you tried something to push the boundaries. For DD players it's really a good way to play and adapt your player to your roster...
But now that we see that it was a really bad idea for RTTS, be honest about it, tell us that "MyPlayer" will stick to DD and that RTTS will be back to it's own offline mode.
We want that mode where we can build & grow different players for fun with a true "Career" scenario. We want to build 2-3-4 different careers with different players, that's the thrill of this mode.

We know that. Respectfully, that was over a week ago and we have heard no word on the progress and when we can expect a patch for the lack of program progression issue. That was the primary complaint and in over a week, we still cannot progress our player without first playing diamond dynasty. We can live without the quality of life improvements. We just want to be able to play the mode as designed at this point. The team comments everytime the servers go out. Just a little bit of a progress report would be nice.

Since last week I haven't read anything from SDS on the hundreds of thread stating how RTTS is broken...
So I checked and if you click on the "Help section", you pick The Show 21 and you scroll down to the "Submit Feedback" or "Report Bug" section.
I gave it a try and so should you. I mean, if they don't read us here, they may reply to our individual feedback...
Since they always come with the "You asked for this so we did it", maybe if we're asking enough they'll fix RTTS for 2022... OR they won't do it and take DD money and run...
I have submitted account issue tickets and bug reports. Trust me they are not responding to individual feedback either.
-
It’s still an amazing blunder to have tied RTTS development to DD. I was talking with my game-playing son, who doesn’t play The Show, and described the RTTS issue. His first comment was, “but the people who play RTTS don’t want to play online, right?” How simple of a thought. He doesn’t know anything about it and he hits at a huge issue right away.
-
Amazing that SDS has admitted RTTS progression issues,... dozens of threads about it,... and you still have some going around stating the game is too easy to max out in and it literally takes like one full day to do so,.......
-
We start Overall 30 and everything is capped at 50. Meaning our play will impact 20% of the overall while Cards we should buy with Stubs will get players from 50 to 99 overall...
Simple analysis, They want us to spend stubs to get cards or we're destined to a long grinding with average players... How do we get Stubs? Playing DD OR Spending Cash...
Basically, it's a great way to get more money... It's just really poorly hidden... Reminds me of StarWars Battlefront 2 scandal... I can't believe SDS is treating their players like EA does... That's scary....
Realism isn't a priority, Cash is... I hope that with the Microsoft GamePass contract they singed, they will have enough money to hire a team of Dev to fix this mess... Or at least develop something acceptable for 2022

That is actually not true. The perk cards are the ones you can buy on the market and from my experience they do not increase your OVR level. The only card that increases that is the archetype card, which cannot be purchased on the market. The only way to get them is to complete in-game tasks. So in a way the only way to increase OVR us through gameplay. For instance, my speedster archetype had me at 58. After a season of completing tasks, I was 66 with the Silver Slick Speedster Archetype. I'm about halfway towards the Gold Archetype on the speedster tree. The only way to upgrade speedster is by tallying 24 plate appearances and stealing bases. Once you get to slick speedster, you can also increase by fielding. Since these cards are not available on the market, you can only get them by completing on field tasks. So all of the OVR progression is tied to play.
-
One could argue that the perks and gear not counting to OVR may be a bug though.

Respectfully, we need a little more than "is working on things" as a status update. Where is the team currently on the roadmap for these fixes? Is there an expected completion date? One would expect extremely critical bugs that make a core gameplay mode literally unplayable (progression not being awarded) to be a top-priority fix that is communicated constantly. Only hearing things like "in a future update" and "the team is working on it" is rapidly eroding years of faith the community has had in the team.
I understand that COVID-19 likely threw a major wrench in development plans this past year and a half and you are getting inundated with complaints about this as well as server issues, but when mistakes happen it feels disrespectful to the community to not try to provide any sort of discrete roadmap for critical bugs.

100% agree with this. Unfortunately the only roadmap we have is "Working on things" and when they said "many future goals of the system won’t be realized for some time"...
I agree that a quick roadmap would be great, even better if they were clearly stating :
- These XYZ things will be fixed and here's or priority order;
- These ABC things won't be fixed and here's why;
Doing that would provide us with important feedback and we'd feel that SDS cares about their players...
We'll see how they react as soon as the server thing will be fixed since we know this is their absolute priority right now. (Which is the good thing to do)

All you have to add is that you are tracking that the duel progression with your DD Ballplayer and RTTS Ballplayer is currently not working and your aware of it, this article makes it seem like you believe that feature is working and there's minimal issues on RTTS, yes people are upset that it feels grindy but the game itslef isn't tracking progression, you don't even mention that, it's just the whole we want to boost archetypes and perks, that's not the big issue, it's the fact that it doesn't track progression and the DDballplayer stays at 65 and equipment doesn't work

And guess wheres the only mode progression towards getting those said attributes resides... DD which has proven to be the only mode in which playing your DD player actually tracks, and having a good team around that player will make it easier to progress your player and reach its goals, as well as equipment that you use stubs for to buy and it helps your overall player, and if you read the article it even stats that your Ballplayer is designed to have to only necessarily need to play DD if your trying to "max your stats" a legit quote from the very article sds is referring to

They are steering everyone to DD and the card buying system...
Meanwhile EA is getting sued in several countries for the same thing with their loot boxes "Ultimate Team"...
https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5996912
I enjoy the card system in Conquest / March to October / etc... But now it is SO central to the game and forced upon players, I wonder if the same kind of lawsuit could happen with TheShow franchise...
DD is fun from time to time but I really hope SDS will provide us with Quality Offline game mode in next year version. Trying to steer everything and everyone to DD might be a costly decision on the customer loyalty side of things and on the legal side as well...

"They are steering everyone to DD and the card buying system..."
Welcome to NBA 2K.
League will wither and die, just as it has in NBA 2K, too.
"DD is fun from time to time but I really hope SDS will provide us with Quality Offline game mode in next year version"
"Unfortunately the only roadmap we have is "Working on things" and when they said "many future goals of the system won’t be realized for some time"..."
SDS is lying. They have no say in the matter. It's up to Sony and MLB, and live service money overrules anything a single player mode gamer has to say, because they don't spend money.

I personally went back to mlb20 and won't play mlb21 till fixed and this is the last year that I ever pre order this game I hope they make rtts independent of dd (a mode in which not everyone likes) but also improves rtts for the better I have read plenty of post on different rtts forums written by the fans with great recommendations on how to improve rtts. So hopefully the devs will read them and take the suggestions and use them to make rtts amazing which is the only reason I play this game

I seriously think you're right, but I really hope you're wrong...
I'll stick to 2020 for now I guess...

This. Exactly.
I buy MLB The Show for RTTS. It's the only mode I play. I'm not at all interested in DD or any online play.
I'll play MLB20 until it quits working, I guess.
Maybe RBI will be worth playing next year. -
