Or every time they make contact its a hr?? Not even perfrct timing. The game caters to upper cut power swings...its honesly ridiculous how many hrs and fly balls are hit off balls in dirt...cuz lets allow uppercut swings to be effective in any situation. Not to mention the no aiming and letting cpu aim for ya. Its a god [censored] joke of a game..they dont fix [censored] ever. Pulling low and outside sliders for hits. Directional gets more cheap hits as well. .
Why play a game when you let the cpu do half the work for you? Online should be zone only....

I think you need to take into consideration at what difficulty you are playing at. At rookie and veteran directional is pretty good. Then at all-star it gets tougher and then at hof and legend its super hard to hit with directional.

Because they reward xp for hits and hrs etc...when it takes 0 skill to hit with this bullsh*t online and rewards garbage user play. Which then gives them more xp to be more garbage online. If directional was such a huge advantage some people make it out to be, everyone would be using it. This comes up every year like clockwork. Stop making excuses that you lost and move on. If you are using zone, you have every advantage to hitting, low, high, outside, inside, dirt... zone outhits directional in every single situation unless you don't place the pci well.

So if directional is such trash, and zone hitting so perfect, explain the pci user who pulled a slider that was 2 feet outside, pretty much in the other batters box, and a again I say PULLED, for a 500ft homerun with a 50 power guy against me...yup directional is trash and unrealistic and zone is perfect and realistic....lmao

Directional hitting for online competitive is trash … facing the dodgers/yankees and all a person has to do is mash sqaure … it’s annoying

Played 1 online game, non DD, with direction hitting. Lost 2-0. I made an error in the outfield(unofficial), and a base running blunder. Seems fair to me.

As a directional offline player I struggle to hit on all star and above. If took me 3 tries to beat Baltimore on all star, lol

" toddler TEE Ball " !It's a skilless joke and is the epitome of what ruins this game for grown folks, those who actually played ball and/or the true fans.
There needs to be isolation toggles just like there are for "guess pitch", difficulty and the other choices prior to an online game search.
{I've said this for years and years now btw}I play authentic ball as in a chess match, but get matched up with a puppy who plays Chinese checkers and even has extra marbles !!
2 different games and has no business at the same table ( on the same screen ) together.
They have no foul balls and practically no base runners even....just skilless and ridiculous square button mashing home run derby's.The " fools gold " of it all is they claim to be good, sit in the leaderboards, and some how THINK they are actually playing the game.
Not hardly.

I don't care which system anyone uses to hit (or pitch), but I won't really go for use of the word 'authentic' until they figure out pitching and batting views from the inside of the pitcher/batter skulls. Like what they're actually seeing. Maybe then we can talk about an authentic experience. Until then we've got pitching from either the outfield view or the catcher's view (!) and hitting from the catcher's view primarily...and for some,also from the umpire's view if he's standing back the mandated two metres for COVID-19.
