I'm sorry you've had that experience, but that is the opposite of mine. I haven't lost a showdown yet this year, and I've played a ton of it.
To avoid double plays, don't swing at low stuff with less than 2 strikes, and don't chase breaking balls out of the zone or in the dirt. Really look for something up.
The rest, is just bad luck I suppose.

I have not played showdown yet, but I heard a few people say the computer will not try to throw you out stealing bases until you have 8 out left. If that is true you can steal 2nd to stay out double plays until you hit 8 outs.

That's good you got your vouchers every time. The worst I've had is beating the final showdown and then afterwards I get the server error message and then it counts it as a loss. Even though I played and won. I also beat a showdown yesterday and exchanged my vouchers, but then when I went on later last night to play I was back at 61% which is where I was before I won the previous showdown. It's like the fact that I won and exchanged the vouchers never happened.

Yea i just tried both the 1st inning and the TA showdown....same old [censored]. Good timing/contact, weak bounce to short or fly out directly at the outfielder. I'm trying to grind TA but since the Conquest is a one time only thing and MTO is a waste of time right now, it looks like i'll be grinding innings in 9 inning games all week for 5 points.
So stupid.

What difficulty is the 1st inning showdown on? I haven’t done any this year because I was getting kicked off when I tried to play. Seems a little better today.

I played the beginner showdown twice and can't make it past Bauer. Completed the 1st inning showdown my first attempt. Go figure. Total RNG.

Yeah the moments in showdown have definitely changed. They are like the regular moments moments. I did the moment outside Babe Ruth homer and was like wtf why can’t he homer. Didn’t choose his 42 card. Finally cleared it.
Picked up his 42 card and he is banging homers in conquest left and right.
There definitely is some sort of SDS shenanigans in showdown.

Man very weird, i am 5 for 5 in the TA showdown but now 0-3 in the inning one!! So frustrating that i cant hit Valezuala at all! Been 13-15 each one... i am 2-7 on perfect hits too, so that's fun. Gonna try this one again in a few days..

Played the 1st inning showdown yesterday. I couldn’t get any decent exit velocity at all. Yes, I was picking high power guys as much as possible. It was ridiculous how soft my hits were. I ended up beating it (on third try after being pretty decent at showdowns previously).
I don’t want to see Fernando again any time soon. That screwball/curve mix and the super slow change. I want to like Fernando because I grew up in LA at that time, but he made me so frustrated, I’m not sure I’ll even pick him up. Maybe if I get him and make others struggle, it will make me feel better.
I didn’t notice anything crazy on the starter showdown and I haven’t done any affinity ones yet, but that 1st inning was a pain simply because I couldn’t hit anything hard. Even when I beat the final boss, it was more singles and walks that did it.
