The issue here is that there is a simple fix that 90% of the community would be satisfied with. Revert 1.04. But SDS won’t ever do it and we’ll probably never hear from any devs as well which is just frustrating as hell. That’s also why everyone’s upset
Exactly. They won't ever admit they were wrong so instead they'll fiddle and [censored] around with it for the next three months until it's time to start lying about next years game.
-
No what they'll do is come up with new legends to distract us from all the problems with the game.

Before Launch:
"We here at SDS worked hard all this offseason to come up with a new hitting dynamic. We even had a beta period to test it and receive feedback from players. We used that telemetry and feedback to make further tweaks in order to make things even better for our release"2 days after official launch:
"We are going to take a few days worth of telemetry, when everyone is playing on the easiest difficulties, mix that in with some player complaints and abandon all the telemetry we gathered and work we did prior to launch." -

Offline XP has been reduced too. Meanwhile I can't get Eck because of the bugs
The bottom line for me is that If I can't get to 300 stars in the first inning, with the added points I will earn doing the full US map in conquest then I am probably done with the game.
It will remind me of '18 when after one month I realized that there was no chance I was even going to be able to earn 1 immortal so I simply quit.
They got your money already, they don't care. Now they can cater to all the online players who will keep paying for packs to try and get an advantage. Then, next year, they can talk about all the changes they've made so everyone will buy again and after a week they'll drop a patch to destroy it. Circle of life. Well, circle of yearly game entry life

Hitting is terrible it was so fun before

Sad, but true. I don't think it's a coincidence that this patch dropped 2 days after full release. They maximized their day one buys & now it's time to focus on the mega spenders.

If you think Online players like this patch you are dead wrong. They are catering to the 12 people that want realistic baseball. Most of the posts and comments about this patch ARE from online players

I dont quite get that. I finished playing 18 when 20 dropped on Friday. I grinded every immortal (outside of Musial) and I spent all of $15 dollars extra the day I bought it that August.

This is unbeieveable. I have been a zone hitter ever since starting DD in 2016. Now I can't even hit with zone so I have reverted to Directional as its the only way I can get any success. I hate using Directional. I was doing ok with Zone before the patch and now I am so frustrated I may end up quitting alltogether. Get rid if ball physics and go back to the 16 hitting engine when it was actually fun and competitive. I'm the sucker here though having bought every MLBTS since 2006.

Well, I am sure people did but I don't do things that I don't find in the slightest bit fun. In 18 that included:
Removing players that I wanted in my lineup with lesser players simply to grind stats with them and flipping Cards so that I could afford to do the exchanges and souvenirs.
The souvenirs and exchanges I think are what finally broke me.

For me I am going to get there just on sheer hours of game play, because I sucked at Showdown before the patch.
In what mode though? The problem for offline players, one that the online players do not really have to deal with, is that once we have completed the inning specific Conquest and Showdown (if you can finish it) and any player programs like the one for Granderson then there is nothing left to do but grind meaningless games for the sake of XP.
In Ranked Seasons, and even Events gamers are playing for a purpose, to improve their rank and earn better rewards. If you play offline all that is left is to play "vs CPU" games that have no point or re-running the US conquest map and earn another 10 pack of bronze and common cards.
I got two golds and Bregman out of that 10 pack, I was surprised this the only year I got good cards from that 10 pack. I got Yates from set 1 headliner pack, and Walker Buehler from set 2 headliner pack. I finished all the CQ maps, I finished Granderson, I am not going to waste 500 stubs to play showdown. MTO takes like 10 hours to do. Online is frustrating with two many errors and glitches. I am left to moments and grinding innings for Affinity. I did not play 16 until the end of the year. 17 was the best for pitching.

I wish they would have improved Pitcher control instead of nerfing across the board. Showdown was already challenging enough before, and the increased pitcher control would have leveled things online a bit

I never said online players liked it. However, online players play against other online players who are suffering from the same patch. Generally, online players are better at the game as well. While online players may not be liking what happened, offline players have gotten the no-lube treatment here.

Nice. I think I got like 3 silvers out of that 10 pack. I actually had 17 packs to open from all the missions I finished up first time through and they were terrible.

While I haven’t tried it yet, I wonder why they don’t just keep hitting the way it is and jack up the pitch speeds to 16 level with smaller pcis. I’m still a believer that hitter/pitcher dynamic of 16 was the best. 20 would be if the speeds were realistic with the current ball physics and timing Windows. Just my 2 cents
I completely agree. Does SDS not get it, or do they purposely reduce skill gap when they see casual players losing interest?

That's awesome. I've opened 90+ packs and gotten 8 golds and zero diamonds...
