How do you deal with losing?
-
I just play to have fun. In the end, it's just a game. I don't play too competitively to really care if I lost to a player I "feel" wasn't as good as I am/was.
-
I try to put things in perspective. We can all relate to what you say, we've all been there. But then I usually tell myself this game and the accomplishments within this game don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. So I just shake it off and move on, try to enjoy the next game a bit more. Because that's why we play at the end of the day, right? I'm a borderline top50 player so I play competitive but I wouldn't do that if there was no fun in it and only frustration.

I just have fun either way most of the time. It's a game at the end of the day and its baseball!

I come on to this forum and complain about comeback logic and how my opponent was taking advantage of animations. Then I talk about how much I know about baseball because I washed out at the college level 20 years ago and how I would win “if this was real baseball.” Then I shut off the phone, kick the leg of my coffee table and angrily cry myself to sleep.

Could have gone pro if it weren’t for my [censored] knee

If your response to this question is anything other than shrug, have a quick laugh at yourself and move on to the next game then you're taking this way too seriously and I don't get you at all.

That's tough -- and I'm sure someone who grew up playing baseball can attest to this -- but that's the beauty of baseball and why you have to focus on each and every pitcher vs. batter match-up, every pitch. I didn't play baseball growing up, I was more of a hockey guy but I never had the size or competitive drive to compete once my body didn't mature as much as others my age.
What I can compare it to; I used to be a competitive tournament player for Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) and I was good, but whether it be online or in the middle of a tournament with all your friends and competitors around you, there's obviously pressure. How you deal with that will almost always define your success. For me, as I previously said, not really having much of a "competitive drive," I just treated each match whether it was against some better or worse than me -- as a learning experience. If you can condition yourself to think that way, you'll have fun with the excitement of just playing and be able to take something away from each time you play.
Let me put this into perspective, I've never been very good at this game, but I've stuck with it for 5+ years and I'm still learning.

I finished last year with 400+ loss im used to it by now lol

I usually say “ are you f@$&!4 kidding me a bunch of times”. Then I have to stay up late since I can’t end the night on a loss like that.

Pour myself a drink
In all seriousness though, I’m pretty lax when it comes to this game. You should see when I play NHL. I had to stop playing competitively, I got so mad it’s ridiculous. This game doesn’t make me mad at all

I had to stop playing NHL because EA destroyed it

Feel like just regular online play is good but HUT is a dumpster fire. I picked it up after the holidays for discounted price (hadn’t played it in a couple years) and I realized why I quit in the first place. Absolutely horrible.
People here give SDS a hard time but gameplay is better/more realistic and the content isn’t even close
