Where is the PS5 download code?!

After redeeming the insert code, I had to insert the ps4 disc into the ps5 to trigger the download. What would someone with a digital ps5 do? This is bad they are requiring the disc.
The digital version is already for PS5. Only us Disc ppl have to do this

I mean if I bought the ps4 Jackie Robinson disc version, but only have a ps5 digital console. I would have no way to play on ps5.

Ok so I downloaded the PS4 version and when I went to the store it was under the preorder section and was right there free to download. Just going to take 3 FKing HOUrS
Can you take a photo screen shot of the place where you found it?

I chatted with the play station support and was told there is an issue with the codes for some people. Not all of the codes include the PS 5 version of the game. I had to send them pictures of the card and my purchase receipt. Was told they'll get back to me in 2 business days.

The code was on the sheet inside the box. That is for all the special Jackie Robinson add-ons. I did that first, just by happenstance. I couldn’t figure it out. Went into the store and found the game and it showed a free download
Thank you for posting this! For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to download my PS5 version. I would’ve never have thought to go into the PS store.
I kind of figured the PS5 version would’ve downloaded automatically once the code was entered and accepted. Really weird and cumbersome way of doing this.
They should have put explicit instructions on the insert on how to obtain the PS5 version. -
But but... my damm ps5 version is not into the ps store. Where is it supposed to be exactly?
-
SAME HERE. Box says PS5 download but theres no code. The only code we have is the 12 digit code and this is asking for a 10 digit code?? ummmm hello?
-
I'm on the same boat. I entered the code on the PS5's PSN store, got the confirmation for the digital content but nothing for the actual PS5 game. I checked my game library and no MLB 21 shows on there. I'm just going to stare at my hat while i calm myself down.

Ok, so i inserted the PS4 disc into my PS5 and the PS5 upgrade came up. This was misleading since this is what i wanted to avoid. The game is cross-progression, and i wanted to play the digital version at home on the PS5 and the disc version on the PS4 when away from home. But now i have to take the disc wherever i want to play it. If they had been 100% clear on this, i would have bought the same edition digitally and avoided all this confusion. It took me 10 minutes of googling this issue to narrow it down to what the problem was.

Agree with you 100%. The sales description on this was very misleading, and now I have to deal with removing disc from my son's ps4 whenever I want to play on my PS5. The box even says "PS5 full game download". And where would the disclaimer be that this version does not support PS5 digital consoles?
-
My understanding is that the disc must be in the machine no matter what version you want to play. Once the disc is inserted on the PS5, go to the PlayStation store and search for MLB The Show 21. You should see a PS5 version that has two price tags, “Free” and “69.99.” Choose the free version and it should start downloading. At least that it worked for me.

Every PS4 to PS5 disc-based upgrade is like this (every PS3 to PS4 upgrade was also like this). It also says it in the game’s FAQ online. It may even say it on the back of the case. I bought digital so I can’t check.

That is my case.

I still have nothing coming up for me. I have entered the code, put the disc in the PS5 and still it wants me to pay for the PS5 edition in the store. The whole reason I got the Jackie Robinson edition was it would have the digital upgrade code. Should I take the disk out and put it back in to trigger it?
-
All,
Make sure you have the disc in and go to the tab at the top of the home screen for the game. Hit the options button and go down to the bottom of the menu where it says "choose version" and then select the PS5 version. It will put you into that version and you can hit the download button. That is what worked for me.
It keeps downloading the Tech Test Beta and not the Full PS5 game. Does anyone know why it won't go to the full game?

It only shows me the games for purchase and doesn't show a free version. When did that show up for you, the first time putting the disc in?
-
Did your code properly redeem all the content? Check your purchase history, should show Jackie Robinson edition. I also tried to download tech test again, as my games did not show mlb 21. But after I put disc in, it then downloaded ps5 version. If I take disc out, I see the purchase price for ps5 version, but with disc in I get Launch option.

My disc is in, and all I see is an option for the PS5 tech test. No option for full PS5 game, and no free version in the PS Store.
Can we fix this please? I’m nowhere close to the only one that can’t play the game on next gen like we paid for.

@Collin_SDS_PSN @Victor_SDS_PSN Hey guys, could you jump in on this? Tons of people can’t access the PS5 version, any would love answers. My disc is in, I redeemed the code, options and game version only show an option for the tech test on PS5, and there is no free PS5 version to download in the PS Store. Thanks for any help you can provide, this was a huge bummer and what should have been an exciting Opening Day.
