Any college kids having issues?

This is not uncommon for institutions to blanket block all ports and only open the ones frequently used. Contact your IT admin / helpdesk.

We have, and so have the other people that are having issues. The possibility of the college opening ports is pretty slim. It seems like an oversight on SDS's part to use a commonly blocked ports. And now they have what I can only guess is a lot of users that are dead in the water.

SDS has no control over what ports institutions block. A port that works for you and your school may not work for others and vice versa.

We had a thunderstorm roll through earlier that knocked down some powerlines.
It seems like an oversight on SDS's part not to have cherry pickers ready to immediately restore power. And now they have what I can only guess is a lot of users that are dead in the water.

If the laptop is on the same LAN its not going to make any difference. This is a firewall issue.
